I wonder if each grid will have it's own currency and economy. Linden would compete to be the most vibrant economy but there would be nothing stopping others from competeing. There could even be free grids like the sandboxes that exist now. Just a thought.
The AC does make an interesting point though. At the moment alot of the development that is going on tends to ask the question "How do we port this?". Which is understandable given the infancy of the system. Don't forget that it took a while for the PS2 to get rolling development wise. However once devs got more experienced with the 'uniqueness' of the architecture some excelent things were done, and are still being done. Give it time and we will see this system used it great ways, for example load times are getting faster as devs work out how to lay out the data on disk to decrease random access, this also has the benefit of added batery life, eventually they will get a grip on the other bits. Patience.
Some of the guys over at DSDev have some test code to show how presure sensitivity might work. According to the official doco from Texas Instruments on the touch screen it should support it. Something to do with the area over which the pressure is applied based on some special formula. It's all very technical but definitely possible.
I remember posting a response to a similar article about sue happy music execs in the past. And here it is:

For example the Music Industry has got it down to a fine art. Find a consumer, sue them for millions, they can't afford legal costs so they settle for around 3 - 5 grand, move onto the next.
They could potentially make more money this way out of indiduals then by having them buy CD's.
Just my thoughts anyway. --- Snippy Snippy ----
I actually find it kind of scary that what started out as an attempt at sarcasm turned into possible reality!
I think that Sharks would be a good idea to get you out of the water quickly.
I think there were sharks swimming in the water in GTA VC, which lead to speculation when the first screenshots were released that swimming would be included.

I loved the first movie, I hope they recast George Cloony, but I didn't like the other 8....
Uh wait this isn't about the movie Solaris is it?

Yeah and what about some form of protection to stop any super accidents in the back of the car. I mean would the condom need to be made out of lead or would some kind of spermacide made of Kryptonite be needed?
Has anyone noticed that there is a movie comming out this year which deals with topic. It is called "The day after tommorow" and will be released around May.
This is similar to the when the Core came out last year and suddenly reports started appearing which dealt with the movies subject matter.
Or maybe I'm just paranoid... i'll ask the people following me.
I was just thinking about how people have been reacting to the effect of violence in GTA on the real world. GTA is a cartoonish representation of the real world, with exagerated situations, characters and locations, and yet people still blame it for real world violence.
This True Crime game is based heavily in the real world, with all the violence from GTA but now in realistic setting and location. Can anyone else see the crazy people out there latching on to this and complaining. I mean they have a problem with simulated cartoon violence imagined what they can do with this realistic game as an argument.
Well my first thought was the same when reading about the Dragons and the Demons, but then I rembered this is a game, someones imagining of the world, as long as there is some good story telling to go along with these events they should not be a problem. In the end it is all about the entertainment.
As the Architect might say..... "The problem is choice" From reading the article it kind of reminds me of the Architects discussion with Neo regarding the various iterations of the Matrix. The question for the designers is really how to ballance Choice and Control. Of course to this Neo would respond with.... "Whoa..."
Wouldn't it most likely be called GTA : San Angles since the Liberty City and Vice City were also in the original game. Also it will probably be set in the 70's going with the current trend of 90's then 80's. Also San Angles had the Hippy Van and San Francisco which it will probably be based has more of a 70's hippy vibe. Also could be cool with lots of flashy Pimps in their flashy pimp mobiles. Of course all the music would have to be on 8 Track tapes.
Not quite in the same ballpark as GTA but Privateer was a sandbox game. You had an overaching storyline but plenty of other things to do on the side. Does anyone know if there are or were plans to make a MMORPG of the Privateer universe I think it might be fun.
What about the Old 2D GTA games. The multiplayer was cool in those. I wasted plenty of time with those games. I loved the Tanks and the mines, car guns.... just about everything. I am sure there is great potential for multi play in the new GTA's if we look hard enough.

This is not true at all. I've played games all my life and I'm not Fat, Infact I'm terribly underweight.
As for the anger thing, well I'll tell you about that after I dislodge my Controller from the wall.

Maybe they will make the controllers the size of human hands.

Well except for the Gameboy line Nintendo hasn't done to well with portable devices. Does any one remember the Virtual Boy?
I did not think it was possible to make an X-Box bigger. I would like to see what he could do with the controllers.
Uh I don't know .... when they let AC's like you fill up the boards with mindless rants.
I guess this voids his waranty then :)
How long until Nokia unleashes the evil lawyer bots to stop any critism against their product or company. I mean it wouldn't be the first time.
Hey why shouldn't it work for the army, I mean according to all the parents out there GTA has been a great recruitment campaign for Crime :)
