No, Microsoft and Sony beat Nintendo to the next-generation console while Nintendo released an updated GameCube. Wii is to GameCube as Game Boy Color is to Game Boy or PSP-3000 is to PSP-1000: much the same hardware with higher clock speed, more RAM, and some new I/O.

Exactly, Nintendo just stopped playing the next-gen game. Rather than trying to beat Sony and Microsoft by being better they decided to be different and work the casual gaming market. It seems like Microsoft and Sony are the ones playing catch-up with Nintendo with the Kinect and Move respectively.

Are all your phones cordless? If so, there's your problem.

For how frequently the power goes out where I live and how bad cell reception is I picked up a corded phone from the 70s at a garage sale. It's only happened once that the power and the phone were out so my ugly phone has generally been a lifesaver.

Bullshit. A company has no responsibilities beyond legal ones. There is no way for a company to know in advance whether a decision will be good or bad; the company can make some very reasonable guesses but they're still guesses. It's an investor's responsibility to do proper research before investing in a company and to keep the emotion out of their decisions otherwise shit like this happens.
