We moved recently and didn't have cable internet at home yet so we were tethering. My fiancé tethered to her laptop and watched the entire Casey Anthony murder trial. She got a txt telling her that she'd be throttled, but it didn't even impact her ability to stream the trial video.
Tmobile also has a "relationship" (twitter) with Steve Kondik (of Cyanogenmod custom ROM). They have sent him hardware. Whether you view this as them endorsing the jailbreaking / tethering community is up to you.
Sorry... I have never understood what was evil in the first place. They didn't crack WEP or WPA at each wifi hotspot and gather data did they? If you wifi is announcing stuff out loud for the world to hear, then why is Google in trouble for listening?
Restriced should be just as secured as Classified, Top Secret, Über Top Secret, etc.... in that only those two should see it are allowed to see it. Why have more than one security scheme. Have one that works and use it.
... and it seems like once you start downloading too much it kicks you off or makes you contact someone. Seems like he evaded that little scheme and they're charging him with that. Insane... it'd be like charging someone for disabling pop-ups.
So... then you get interwebs to that 1 power plant (if it doesn't have it already) and leverage the existing power transmission system. Then you're not running wire for every address that you want to deliver to. You need to connect 500 houses.... you can run 500 wires, or 1 wire.
This seems perfect for the application of that broadband over power lines idea. They're getting power aren't they?.... if not..... then why would they need interwebs?
Alphanumeric would be 62 different characters. going from seconds to minutes to hours to days to years for a 7 character password.... 62 ** 7 / 14605.0 / 60.0 / 60.0 / 24.0 / 365.0 results in 7.6459888127245952
So its actually around 7.7 years but thats with just one computer. If you had 7.7 computers, it would take a year. If you got a shitload of time on Amazon (which I hear has GPU rigs available for rent) you could shrink that time way down.
Please.... if you propose a new standard make it better... not just smaller. I would love to see a single physical SIM card that is actually 2 in 1. Then in the future, I wouldn't have to carry around my personal smartphone and my company flip phone.
Wouldn't a tag based system be more effective than trying to exhaustively list 140,000 things?
Or can each of these 140,000 be used in a combination?
What if you walked into a lamp post, fell and hit your head on a turtle, it got angry and bit your ear?
Have you thought about creating cases for these things?
A keyboard would make a good case, possibly with a USB hub built in.
Closest or Coldest?
But if you make an etch a sketch today Apple will sue you saying they invented a round bezel.

So Apple and Sony are backing it.... sign me up

Forget Java... I wish Google would continue the work it promised to do on Python. What is going on with unladen swallow?
Its wrong on principal.
Besides, if they want to control their own destiny, they should implement their own runtime.
Who cares if Android fragmented Java as a language.... Google is allowed.
Isn't this about using IP and patents?
Is zero even or odd?

.... WTF... you waited for G+ to come out... now you might as well give up.
I can't stand the monstrosities they try to create using Word and Excel today... don't give them even more power... please
What if you had a voice activated display and kept saying "enhance" over and over?
Someone wrote "Wash Me" on my car.
Pretty sure that its visible from space as well.
Lately visible from space doesn't really mean anything.

I'm not familiar with any of these other apps listed on here, but why would you have to pay to run a MediaWiki server?
Who are you paying for this?

Other than that... it looks nice and clean.

... seriously?
Is this a kind of symbiotic relationship?
Do the birds get any nutrition / energy from it?
ls -ail ???
I think a better command would have been ....
tar -c . | bzip2 | base64
