If so, it would've read: "I think ECS emproyee take gleat plide in hard work, even though they are get paid vely rittle in compalison to broated unionized factolies in Nolth Amelica." Oops... that wasn't very pc of me.:-P
The key to the Widow's Mite account is that she was simply giving to God, not a charity. The Widow could have held back her offering. She not only gave her best, but everything she had. God saw her heart and was pleased. Today many people here seem to be assuming the role of God in the case at hand and judging the billionaire's heart motives.
A few years ago I got into my first computer science exam, panicked and couldn't even write my own name, let alone answer all the easy questions. Never having had a panic attack before, I didn't know what was going on. But I knew that if I left the room, I'd fail. So basically I decided to sit, face straight ahead and do NOTHING but look into space and sip from my water bottle. About 1/2 an hour later, I was calm enough to at least try to look at the questions and maybe give them a go - nothing to lose. I could've easily answered them in other circumstances, but my head was so cloudy that it was real slow going. Thinking through the most simple sentences was a major struggle. Had to read the most simple questions over and over. I kept sipping though. I got through much of the exam paper and passed.
Perhaps some Linux users want software that installs and just works, without having to figure out crap about compiling versions, missing libraries, etc. Joe Sixpack don't care for Stallmanism, he just wants his software to work. Hence, believe it or not, there is a market for Linspire's "Click N Run" service, no matter how abhorent the concept is to some. SuSE Linux for years included software that was proprietary and closed sourced on their production CDs. People still used SuSE. If people want to follow Stallmanism anally, then they have the freedom to choose not to download and install the Google Earth software.
Both the sqare root of minus one and matraces had no posible application when they were firts investigated. Now both are essential tools for engineers.
I guess this is similar to the case of spelling (or proofreading).:-)
I thought you guys didn't eat beef, you know, scared cows having the right of way in the streets and all that other stuff that we in USA get taught about India.
Not all Indians are hindu. And who said I was Indian?:-)
Because of higher framerates perhaps? Or is that a myth? You'd expect drivers written by those with inside access to ATIs super secret IP should be gruntier than the reverse engineered drivers.
My old Radeon 9000 and my current Radeon 8500dv have excellent 3D acceleration using ATI's Linux drivers. No matter how difficult their Linux drivers are to install, they don't seem as buggy as their Windows drivers/software. I dual boot and performance is comparable.
NOD32 has awesome corporate anti-virus software. Very lean on memory/cpu resources and the remote admin features are very powerful. I tend to remove Symantec products from pcs where possible, because they are so bloated and resource hungry that they slow the pcs down to a crawl.
There's never an excuse to be an "asshole" as you put it. Cops are supposed to be above reproach.
Excellent post! Well said! I am so glad that I don't live in the USA!

Yeah but how much will it cost us?
Which distributions use XGL? It seems that Debian (which I use) hasn't got any packages yet.

Dear Mr Pay-ing von Court d'Case. You don't fool me. If this were legit, you would've typed in CAPS. All legit emails are formatted in this manner.
Does He read /. ?
Ever considered academia? :-)
Don't you mean "embiggens"? ;-)
