And then Apple would have to cut jobs, they'd start losing money as 99% of PC manufacturers bundle MS Windows with their machines (cause it's cheaper), then Apple would close and we'd all have no support for our iPods anymore. Then all the 3rd party companies making hardware and software for iPods/Apples would also have to move on and possible most of them couldn't survive either. So hacking OSX and "freeing" it, is stupid as it would negativly impact a lot of people and companies. Long and short of it is that piracy is a sucky thing.

Thats a good question .. maybe if you get an answer you could also ask why we can't get an graphics card for the IEC bus on my Commodore 64 as well ? No seriously I'd like to know why we can't just stick graphics cards on every bus type out there, I'm sure I heard something about bus speeds, latency and stupidity course but hey maybe there is a good reason ? ;-)

Just because you've bought your shiny new iPod doesn't mean you are going to buy more music .. most people will want to transfer their existing CD's onto it first and listen to them, then when a new CD comes out they might go and buy it.

Also find the flight tracker useful (cause I travel), and the calcutor (cause my math sucks :-)

  18. Re:Big Fucking Deal on Wallace and Gromit Studio Loses History · · Score: 1

It's more about the fact that people know it's done in clay (or whatever they are made of), people know it's taken a huge amount of effort, they know a huge amount of skill is required, and they'll go see it mainly to see what the mad buggers have spent a chunk of their lives on.

These days the allure of CGI has worn thin mainly because your average home PC can crank results very similar, sometimes a CGI film will be released straight to DVD without ever making it to the big screen, it's just become to "normal".
Yes you could do your own stop-motion film but it's going to take you a long time, and 99.99% of people would give up after an afternoon.

If the show has been broadcast in Sweden then yes, they might very well be legally entitled to distribute and download it within Sweden (depends on their law, whether that is moral is a different question), but to say that a show that was aired on cable in the US aimed at the US market (ie. the cable company has paid HBO the money so that they can in turn show it to their subscribers) can then be freely downloaded by a Swede is stupid ... even American law would be able to grasp that.
