After all which country in the world is the only with a track record of nuking countries they are at war with ?
Very scary that the US is run (and largly populated) by yeehaw style numpties:-(
You know that is REALLY sad don't you ?:-)
What on earth would you type that would be of such interest to the nosy neighbour that you need to "encrypt" it ? And how do you keep it straight in your head when typing ?
Eh ? I fail to see the logic of that... why does a security architecture need to be open ? Surely having it open means it's easier for Joe Haxor to pick it apart and find it's weaknesses ?
(please don't say that if it's open people can fix the problems themselves, cause I don't believe people acually bother to do it:-)
More redundancy would be nice, but it's difficult to justify when there are only 4million people total in the whole country (that might even include the bods overseas).
Big chunks of the country are devoid of people so justifying the cost of running multiple levels of redundacy is hard... and we don't want to pay even more for our phone subscription... bad enough as it is.
Why is there so much pressure to make free alternatives to commercial software ? If it already exists and it's halfway OK then just buy the f'ing thing, that way you support further development of the software by that company and you encourage them to become more inovative
Just seems to me that some people are so tight fisted that they'd rather do as much as they can to remove a company from the market by cloning their software and giving it away free.. what do they hope to achieve ? Are they hoping that the commercial software house will give up on that product and sack it's employees ?
I've nothing against someone producing software and releasing it for free themselves that's their choice, but it just annoys me when people rip off other peoples ideas.. it's almost seems like the warez scene with more thought involved.
How does the whole copyright thing get enforced for things like this ? What happens if you produce "WonderTool!" and sell it for $20 a go, then a bunch of people decide that $20 is far to pricey and produce "GnuWonderTool" which looks and performs identically to yours but is free... how are you then supposed to pay towards the mortgage ?
I've yet to meet a Linux geek who I'm frightened of... actually I take that back, some tend to disturb me due to their devotion to a piece of software.
That's OK, all us non-Americans chuckled anyway because we can't tell the difference between republicans and democrates... hell I can't even tell the difference between a Christian and a Satanist from just looking at them...
Your idea has put uncomfortable images in my head!
How would the screw drives actually make the bug move about ? Would the bug need to expand to fit the tube it's in for traction ? (this is the image in my head... not nice)
You'll probably find that Weta don't need to re-render due to failed disks, they using NetApp Filers for their storage, if they'd had a whole Filer failure I'd have heard about it... NZ is a small place:-)
Plus Filers are pretty robust beasties, not enterprise level but still pretty good.
oh hang on.. ah yes.. looking at your "blog" it seems you are 14 or 15 years old.. that would explain it.
When you enter into the real world where people don't bow to your every whim like mummy and daddy and you have to earn poctor money all by yourself, you will come to realise that things are done for a reason : copy protection and custom formats are used so that the shedloads of money spent on designing a product isn't lost instantly due to social muppets like you ripping them off cause you feel a l33t haxor, it's done to the developers can go out and buy their sports car and nice house after spending 12 months of their life living in a cube.
Bugger me I must be deformed if thats what a humanoid looks like!
Numpties should be banned from computers.

Well maybe your friends shouldn't be such numpties!
Just to help them (and you) out.. a Mac Mini is a computer, with it you can do all sorts of things including but not limited to:
- Wordprocessing - Spreadsheets - E-mail - Internet - Photo manipulation - Video editing - Play games - Hold down paper in high wind areas
Things a Mac Mini probably can't do:
- Give you oral sex - Cook your dinner - Tidy your room - Think up good excuses as to why you are so stupid - Protect your from a nuclear winter - Stop numptyism.
I'm intrigued, please ask your friends what they expected the Mac to do after they'd bought it...

Nah, it didn't touch the BIOS just inserted itself into the MBR so it would boot up when the machine did.

Aw crap! Are you still alive and wasting perfectly breathable air with your stupid 3 S.E.A.S ?
The seem really certain that the neighbours are out to get them, though if they've proved it I've no idea why they don't get the police involved.

Whats the name of that guy who designed Gran Turisom ? He did rather well ...
Well thats a pretty retarded comment ...

But Jar-Jar is amphibious isn't he ? Maybe he was gargling bleach ? (wishful thinking)
Appeals to my sense of humour :-)
It's what we do with dead drives, it's not quite a mangle really .. more an industrial strength shredder.
You are entitled to own copies of all those TV shows and the games are originals yes ? ;-)
