What a retard...he makes more of a case against outsourcing than he does open-source.
I love the line:
Even if Linux were as secure as Windows, Windows is the wrong benchmark.
The self-destructing DVDs are wrapped in air-tight packaging. Once the disc has been exposed to air the clock starts running. (Or was it exposed to light?)
At any rate, once you open the packaging, you have eight hours.
Of course they would pitch it...when comparing license costs for Oracle vs SQL Server, the latter wins hands downs...but considering that in order to use SQL Server, one must also have a license to 2000 Server, the price difference is less of an issue for Oracle if linux server is employed.
I have a video in which you will not believe what you see; that human beings could have sunk so low that they can take pleasure to do this to another of Gods creatures. I hope you have a strong stomach. Yes, it's CAT JUGGLING!
Screw'em! They don't mind when a movie is edited for television or airline viewing -- but they get all offended if I want to alter how I view their movie -- that I purchase!
Useful, yes, but I get an email at least once a day advising me that my account may have been compromised. I have to verify/provide all manner of information, such as ATM PINS, CC Numbers, DDA/Routing numbers, etc...
You'd think they'd keep better track of their info!;)
Or...the RIAA can just take the DTV approach:
"We have evidence you logged on to Kazaa and have traded material, which is illegal under the DCMA. You can settle with us now for $3500 or face getting sued in federal court for $10000, not including attorney's fees, etc.
Now that I think of it, the RIAA's case would be easier to prove, as DTV has only evidence that an ISO Smartcard programmer was ordered.
Ha! When Canada was formed, the folks thought they be getting the technology of the Americans, the culture of the British, and the cuisine of the French. Instead, they ended up with the culture of the Americans, the cuisine of the British, and the technology of the French!
Don't know where I heard/read it, but it sure is true!
I totally understand your try before you buy thinking. However, I've used SuSE for a couple of years now and buy each new release religiously. I want to support the company. What's cool is they ship both the dvd and cd versions in the distro. Generally speaking, I'll let anyone who wants the CD's have them gratis.
Ha! W is just trying to get us up there before the Chinese and Indians so we can plant artifacts from "previous" lunar missions before they find out they've been had! Why else would it take another 11 years to go where we've already [supposedly] been?
I smell conspiracy!
I agree, the graphs do have a very clean appearance. Why don't you pose your question in the comment box at the end of the article? You never know, they (the authors) might actually respond!
Okay, how's this?
If you live in belgium, you can return parts to electronics dealers, or dispose of them in an ecologically sound manner at a community dump. Over here, we pay a small recycling tax on all electronics that is used for disposal.
Merry Christmas,

Oh yeah, and I've got one word for you: XENU. That's the biggest bunch of '50s sci-fi crap I've ever read about. I'm continually amazed at how many people continue to voluntarily choke on L.Ron's member.
While I like your argument, I can't agree with it.
What's the first thing a non-tech savvy user is going to do when confronted with a DRM scheme? They go online and find the workaround. Then, suddenly, you have a slightly more educated user.
Hell, did I know how to write DE-CSS software? Nope, but when I couldn't play my DVDs using linux, I went online and solved that problem in a matter of minutes.
I hate laws that try to stifle the free flow of information. End the end, a lot more than just the information gets squashed -- fair use, privacy, freedom of speech, etc.
Some things are "cool" for no other reason that they run counter to the mainstream. Apple has a throng of devotees partially because they aren't Microsoft.
Add to this the fact that Apple produces kick-ass products and you can see why they remain cool. They've demonstrated that they aren't a passing phase.
Microsoft can pay all of the money in the world and still not (and won't) buy that kind of following.
Plus, you don't see Apple pushing the issue with DRM and all of that other bullshit. Once again they are counter (cool) to the mainstream (dud).
You've obviously never 'been there'. I was laid off a couple of years ago, and although I never fell behind on my bills, it was the worst six months in my life....period. This guy's attitude is stellar compared to mine. I was a mental wreck.
Since then, however, my attitude towards the corporation has completely changed -- especially when they come 'round with their 'hooray team spirit rah-rah' sessions. What a crock.
What started out as scientific research of the cosmos will be taken over by the Dept. of Homeland Security. It seems all those people with grow-lights pose a significant threat to national security!

Promoting healthy diets is in vogue. Talking about heathy diets is in vogue. Actually eating a healthy diet....well, that's another story.

At least both posts were modded 5, Funny...kind of validates that you hit the mark both times! However, it does suck getting ripped off so blatently.

I would say the current US government is borderline fascist.
We've seen this time and time again: When you can no longer make money selling a good or service, simply sue whomever.
