Having looked through your older posts it's pretty obvious that your just a nintendo hater. If there is any pro nintendo slant on/. it's cause 1.) there is a pro psp anti nintendo slant EVERYWHERE ELSE, or because there is still some nostalgia for the old nes/snes days.
Still I swear I have read this exact same post before... Why is wasn't labeled redundant is beyond me.
Well, as a pretty devout and even hard line Christain I think this idea SUCKS. I don't like the popularized Bush type of Chistianity and I think this easily falls into that catagory.
From a Bible standpoint everything that is really awesome glorifies God. As a future game developer (it probably takes a religious nut job to have enough hope to think that I can get into the games industry) I will focus on making the most kick ass, intelligent and fun games possible. Sticking a Christian sticker on something doesn't make it Godly (please no Socratic dialogs on what is Holy please) or holy or anything. If it can't compete with other games then to me, it is actually LESS Godly then let's say, UT2004.
Please, leave God's name out of it. Just make something that is AWESOME. That goes for music, for movies and whatever.
(A good example of this idea is this: http://www.primermovie.com/ It's one of the best sci fi movies in a decade, mad by a Christian guy but nowhere does it say THIS IS A CHRISTIAN MOVIE anywhere on it. It's just a great film.)
What evidence is there of the DS not turning out to be a success in the marketplace? 5 million units sold? Stop being such a hype junkie and look at some stats.
No. The "were doing great" press release put out by sony and linked to by gizmodo and flanked by psp ads everywhere does not count as sales data.
Nintendo made a killing off of the DS, any idea how many of us they suckered into buying Mario 64x4 cause it was the only game out?
You know one of the main reasons I snagged a GC instead of an xbox or a PS2 was size. I always buy stuff that is designed well and like that Nofrendo put some thought into the design, and reduced the size. But, in the end it diddn't matter all that much. By bros xbox fits in his living room just like my GC does...
So, the point is, while size for consoles doesn't matter in a reason-logic-practicle sense... it does sell systems!
P.S. - It was nice to have that handle when goign to lan parties.. oh wait there were no lan parties for GC!
Its also nice knowing that case its optical:
-It will eat up power
-It will prabably have to go back to the disk between levels, etc.
-There will be LOADING times, on a portable! Ack!
-The addition of moving parts: unlike my gba (even though i hacked it up installing my first MOD ever, the afterburner) and my GBA SP this thing will actually break!
-It will prabably be the first portable to have heat issues. I can't wait for portable cooling systems mods and the like.
-There will be no autosave feature like the one in fire emblem, and all saves will require a seperate memory stick.
Whew! Doesn't matter anyway... if they put out a high quality madded with at least a quick sleep feature, that i can play on the train i'll buy the damn thing anyway!
So, how does this 3D (for games) affect students. Is there something about these open source formats that I can go learn, NOW before they are implemented?
What are the chances that this actually get based on class/user-experiance? This will come down to gates wanting this one, and people making un-educated decisions. I see this going to Dell al the way.
This effects more then Apple though, this effects the whole computers in classrooms issue. When the go with MSDELL, and it ends up costing a lot more then they realized, other schools will not be as likely to fallow suite.
How long did it take them to realize that Michael Moore wasn't on their side? I only remember that show beingn on the air for one summer.
Damn that corporate crime fighting chicken was funny.
I would love more Linux based palm-type devices, but what is so special about OpenPDA? Why is AMD only messing with Linux? If they are really looking for customers for their new palm-proc, shouldnt they be shopping it as OS independant?
employee job hours are usually the most costly aspect of planning any project in the government. Hardware pales in comparison (and we get 3k laptops) to 200 employee hours. Software can come close though. ARC View is fricken pricey. There is just no open source equivalent.
How can you lable my post a troll, post... HOW ABOUT THE PARENT??? Come on meda moderators... have at it!

I'll be there too. Wanna play some metroid?
Tactics Ogre (GBA) is a fine example of this. Faith themed but not preachy... damn fine game too.
Cool. At least on person in the world values my opinion!

Where is the SPOILER ALERT?

Nobody wants to hear it but this HAS to be a paid slashdot post.
Most media (specially print magazines) is really just outsourced PR. It was really only a matter of time before Slash did the same.

Yeah, if he wanted to talk about women gamers he should have promoted Animal Crossings and Sims. My wife can not get enough of those games! Arg!

I't not like a federal offense or anything is it?
The person who created lynx and 3DO doesn't think the DS will work! He likes the PSP instead!
This is great news! The Nintendo DS will be a huge hit!

HD space is cheap right? So if this advancement increases development time and cost, it is a tech achievement, but... i guess... whats the point?
um... exclusive contracts out the window?
EA and PS2 have an exclusive deal for online play.
I thought I was the only person to think of this... :)
Some Reasons to Like the N-Gage
1.) It looks like a taco when using it in Cell Phone mode.
2.) You have to take out the batt. to replace games.
3.) Nokia paid us tons of Euros to write this article!*
Hey, there worth so much right now compared to our measly dollar, why not!

That sounds like TV for the people, as opposed to TV for the media conglomerates... FAT CHANCE!!!
As long as they control our airwaves innovation that would benifit users will never happen. The web was supposed to resemble that too, remember?
I'm all about the Taxi drivers one.
Are they also working on Palm/Windows prototypes?
