Your impression from before is correct. Apple knows what it's doing regarding security. MS doesn't (though their marketing / affiliate dept. seems to know how terrible their security is). It's really that simple.

I'd think it's less simple than investing in Sony, as Sony is already worth quite a bit due to other reasons - maybe some smaller vendors or something are around that Sony must contract with to get BluRay off the ground, or will happen to do a lot better for one reason or another if BR wins. Who are these hidden opportunities?
The bottom line is that somebody at Rockstar needs to have their ass handed to them for this, and in a very public manner.

The game is rated for mature audiences. Mature (aka 'adult') audiences, even by american ultra-prude standards, can handle sexual (aka 'adult') material. Do the math.
It says right in the API docs that if you need more than 50,000 hits per day (an INCREDIBLY generous limit, imho), give them a call and they'll try to work something out. Why would you go with something else when they are already being so reasonable toward developers?

While it is true that a modern processor can fit more than 3 billion operations into a second, my question is this: Do we really need it?
