Apparently the leaked files are only the ones changed between Win2k gold and Win2k sp1. Since most of these have been changed in the meantime by sp2/3/4, many exploitable places will have been fixed, and more importantly will have changed offset in the address space of the dll(s), making this code much less usefull for developing exploits.
Here in Denmark I pay around 100USD for 2mbit/256k DSL. Pretty expensive, but it does have impressive uptime and stable bandwidth + true unlimited quota, so I guess it's not too bad.
It's mainly for the japanese market afaict, they loves them some minidiscs (like they still love laserdisc and sundry other weird formats/systems that flopped outside of asia)..
You should be careful of what you wish for; observe the nordic countries (specifically Denmark and Finland): Alcohol is abundant and cheap, and the legal drinking/purchasing age is afaik 15 years. This causes the city streets to overflow with kids often even younger than 15 hammered out of their skulls, every single friday and saturday. Empirical evidence shows, at least to me, that children under 21 cannot resist vices. (as they are intensely careless and stupid most of the time, I support driving and voting ages of 21 as well).
As far as I can tell, everything was preprogrammed and designed specifically for the insertion which occurred, therefore they couldn't have done anything regardless of what weather conditions are right now.
How about this ancient lo-tech trick: www.yahoo.com That' ll push the @blah stuff out of the status bar..

It's a HOUSE you fucking american cunts. Stop this bullshit sentimentalizing of every aspect of your culture!
Yes but even so, they all look more or less the same, with the same 3d-styling, the same color palette, the same font, the same names and layouts for common features, etc.
Right on! This guy must have a 486 to notice any slowdown... I was using a set of 30 (rather simplistic) custom filters at one time, and never noticed any slowdown. This was on a duron 900mhz..
Like a hybrid between a fountain pen and a ballpoint, with a nice pointy nib but without the blotching of the paper:) I'm mad about the things.. Have 3 spares ATM.
That's bullshit. I had a VR card as well, and Quake ran absolutely fucking great on it. (as well as a lot of other games which had accelerated versions).
This cross of robot utopia and american capitalism Brain proposes is nothing short of idiotic and demonstrates a remarkable lack of vision. Why must he bring up such things as advertising on dollar bills, free-market economy, free choice, when these concepts cease to exist in a society where humans are as good as superfluous? Think about it; when in say 50 years everything can be done robotically and computerized, what purpose do humans serve (another question might be what purpose does anything serve, but let's not get into that)? Pretty much the only "solution" is to pacify and contain the bulk of the useless populace while preventing further expansion. Boring malthusian hive-society ahoy!
That's not entirely correct. There are always sattelite launch rockets in various stages of prep sitting around the launch sites of the world (yes, the vast majority of launches occur off the cape). Such a cargo vehicle could easily lift supplies which the shuttle crew could have retrieved with the cargo bay arm or by space-walking and getting it manually. Secondly, some of them could stay on the ISS for a while. Thirdly, a soyuz can carry three, and they're rather cheap and reliable. I actually think it'd be cheaper and faster to conduct the entire thing without using another shuttle.
Microsoft have a windows media 9 codec redistributable on their site which works with wmp6.4 (it's "unofficial", and doesn't download automatically in wmp6.4 like other codecs, but it works just the same)
Larry McVoy is always arguing with people on the LKML, big whoop. Nothing ever seems to come of it, and BitKeeper is still the best tool for the job (or so i'm told:).
Here in Denmark the coverage has been close to non-existant. Everything I know about this euro-dmca and it's american counterpart is from reading slashdot and other tech publications on the internet.. Newspapers gloss over the subject in a half-column article somewhere on page 16:) Even worse, i'm the only person I know who actually knows that this law exists! Even geek friends of mine who work as sysadmins and programmers didn't know anything about it until I told them myself. (as for non-technical people I could just as well be speaking swahili, zero comprehension..)

Blackbox runs on windows
"Bullet with Butterfly Wings", at 112kbps, played with fraunhofer's winplay3 player on my 486.

I figure that was back in '95.

The rover is solar-powered.
(they're too cautious to use battery power to take relatively useless night images)

It's going to need a bit of polishing, a space telescope isn't exactly suited for that kind of rough re-entry.
What then when all companies in a particular market collude to the detriment of the consumer, as is increasingly the case in many markets...?
