I'm not sure about that. I think most parents of Linux developers are asking themeselves "Why won't my son move out of the basement?"

If that happens then the only people who can pirate movies will be people with a lot of bandwidth/high speed internet connections. I love how everybody who asks "Why is this important?" gets modded down as a troll. This just fuels the argument that Slashdot is full of elitist pricks. If MS announced that they were releasing an update to XP this whole site would be full of posts like "LOL OMG MS sucks". and all those comments would be modded as insightful or interesting. Please mod me down to troll. I know it's coming but frankly I don't give a damn

Screw the recall. You could probably do a class action lawsuit against the developers of the game. I have no clue about how the law works but couldn't you make the argument that buying a console game is like entering into a contractual obligation where one party expects a certain level of software development professionalism? I say sue the bastards.

  7. Upgrading is a bitch on Is The Xbox The Cause Of The PC Gamer's Downfall? · · Score: 1

Look, I play both consoles and PC games. I lean more to the PC because I'm more into RTS and Strategy games and consoles are just not there yet. However, the reason why I don't give up on consoles is that they just work! I bought KOTOR about 3 weeks ago and it made me upgrade to DirectX 9. Everything worked at first but when I booted my comptuer up the next day all all my video and sound card settings were screwed up. It took me at least an hour to figure out how to get my box back to normal. (had to update a driver and download some game patches, etc). All I want to do is play a damn game. I don't want to screw around with having to update my system everytime I want to play a new game. I will continue to play PC games because in my opinion they offer a better gameing experience as a whole. I will continue to play cosole games because they have the best "out of box experience".

Oh that's right, I can now play on my handheld that has 20000 cool, psychedelic colors. Nintendo has shown that they are using capitalism too take full advantage of the consumers. Hey Nintendo, instead of putting time and money into researching crazy new color designs, why don't you come out with a better way of producing games. You GBA games are already 30 plus dollars. Hell, if I shop the sales at Best Buy I can can get 2 PS2 Greatest Hits games for 30 bucks. For shame nintendo. I think your just trying milk the consumer for everything he/she is worth.

That is a good point. I agree that most of the games (even all) don't fell like a sequel. It's just annoying that SquareEnix is unoriginal in the Title nameing department. They should just come up with unique titles to the game and do what you said, label it "brought to you by Final Fantasy Production. However, most of the games are based on the same formula (run around a world map, level up, ride some chocobos, save the world with a team of people you just met).
