I've been wearing glasses for 32 years. I haven't been blind. I can't imagine that wearing glasses is more annoying than being blind.
I don't want to be in the minority that aren't doing fine. My grandmother had the surgery a few years ago. She has already had to have one eye corrected. That is only one case, which is enough to convince me that wearing glasses is the route to go.
It's refreshing to see Linux being promoted on this site again. Ever since Apple started advertising here, there have been way too many iPod ads passed off as stories.
Cheap tends to indicate that it is a winmodem. Which is probably why it works under Windows but not Linux I don't know the status of winmodem support in Linux, but the last I knew, it wasn"t good.
Does the hardware manufacturer provide drivers for Windows? How about Linux? Why do you expect Linux developers to provide driver when the manufacturer won't? They can better spend their time working with manufacturers that are willing to release drivers or specs.
Don't buy cheap, bullshit modems and you won't have a problem. It isn't that difficult to find one that is supported. Every one I have used has been and I wasn't even trying.
I could do that. I could also expect salespeople to do their job. I don't expect the world, but a simple,"May I help you?" is good enough. If they can't be bothered to put forth a little effort, I can't be bothered to shop there.
There's this cool key that is right under the caps lock. It's called the shift key.
If you type a letter while holding it down, it will produce a capital letter. You simply release the shift key and resume typing in lower case. It's quite easy when you get used to it.
Shouldn't this kid have gotten punished (fairly) to prevent shit like this from happening...
Are you insane? Punishing the child might destroy his fragile self-esteem. It is much more important that we don't let this happen than teaching him that such behavior should not be tolerated.
If I read it correctly, The lawyers that were getting paid $2000 to $3000 dollars per hour were the ones sueing Microsoft.
What is their normal hourly rate? If it isn't nearly the same, it seems that they are trying to make a huge chunk of cash off MS. Just because MS has a shitload of cash doesn't mean they should get screwed by lawyers. They should be paying out the ass in fines and such, but not to a bunch of scumbag lawyers.
The point was that if you want it done by one person in a short amount of time, forget about it. If you want to allow a significant amount of time and resources, along with cooperation from hardware vendors, it would be very possible.
After looking at their site, I would find it hard to believe that they have any intentions of giving anything back. I didn't see any mention of the wine project, just their "discovery".
SpecOpS Labs recently made an extraordinary discovery involving the Microsoft Windows OS. Our discovery has enabled us to develop a breakthrough software program that we have codenamed David.
This is a case of you get what you pay for. I am going to generalize and say they are going to get nowhere by having their site on the front page of Slashdot. I looked at it, expecting it to be garbage. I wasn't disappointed. Maybe if they spent a couple of bucks and got AOL to push it, they might get somewhere.
Do you consider all trademark law to be legal nitpicking?
Apple hasn't has OSX certified with The Open Group. To my knowledge, there is a lawsuit over this.
Apple doesn't use Unix.

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

I have a 350Mhz pentium 2 that I use on a daily basis. The only thing I don't use it for is gaming.
Interesting, I have not run into this. Couldn't you just get another keyboard?

I bought one a couple of months ago. I can drag mp3s to mine using explorer.
As long as nobody else goes from 4.9 to 4.10, that's just wrong.

We wouldn't be discussing this if some people didn't feel it was an essential liberty to be rude.

Give me 20 years and 20 billion and I'll give it a shot.

Yup, I discovered it too. It's right here.

The concept sounded strangely familiar. Hopefully, this will be just as successful.
They are children. They just do it to get attention. Don't waste your time.
