Frankly, I've been disgusted with the slow progress of cures for debilitating disease in the past 50 years. We've cured almost NOTHING in that time, only found treatments. If this truly is a cure, then we're witnessing something that has happened in half a century. Absolutely incredible.
I think we can all see from real-world examples such as Wal-mart how necessary this is. Corporations are out to make a dollar, the only reason they have in the current market to keep their workforce diversified is to avoid getting sued. Hopefully this will make sure that more subtle discrimination is kept in check.
It's not like the places where solar panels would be placed are particularly nature-friendly anyway (rooftops). No one is saying bulldoze the rainforests and put solar panels there.
...is to pose the unanswered questions to this collective Bayesian mind:
Given how old the universe is, how long does the universe have until the universe collapses back on itself? Hey, at least we'll have the probability of the right answer!
I dunno, considering you still have complete control over the car at all times, I think the driver can still be held 100% responsible. Unless the car steers itself off a cliff...
So even though it may be harder to get the ballistic trajectory, the missle isn't going to be going as fast. And we can still track objects even if they zig-zag, pretty darn accurately too. (Extended Kalman Filter anyone?)
I'm happy that the new patch is including things that will please almost ALL players...namely, weather effects and an upgrade to the blue sets which casuals can obtain. I don't play anymore, but when I did I was a priest, so I hope that whatever changes they make to the class are decent enough to make me want to come back to the game.
However, Naxxramas is stupid and a waste of resources. I am so sick of the 40 man raid content. There are now 3 zones for the hardcores, which are maybe 5-10% of the server population. 5 man stuff is absolutely the most fun for me...the 10 man places are OK, but anything more than that quickly becomes a pain in the ass. I know SOME people like the huge raids, but I would have thought the current content would have placated that crowd for a long time. Give us more 5 man dungeons!
...are they using Wikipedia for thesis work in the first place? Not that I agree with it being banned, but Wikipedia isn't exactly a "trusted" source anyway.
The point of this story was not to highlight a brand new mouse...the point was that this is quite possibly the first product named after a professional video gamer (Although I could be wrong. If someone could provide a counter-example, please do).
I don't either. HD-DVD and Blu-Ray will fail for the same reason SACD failed.
DVD had a distinct advantage over VHS: No degredation in quality after multiple viewings. Basically, all HD-DVD and Blu-Ray offer are higher resolution movies, and I don't think that's enough to convince people to pay probably double the price per disc, and 500 - 1000 bucks for the player. Especially since most movies not made in the past 5 years will see almost no quality improvement when switching over to the new formats.
Passive solar collection (photovoltaic and otherwise) and wind power are really the only truly "green" power sources.
Wind power is not truly green; you have to erect hundreds of them to produce any significant power, and birds have a tendency to fly into the propellers. Solar wastes a ton of land area as well.
I think the episode is trumped by the much better "Homer in 3D" segment in Treehouse of Horror VI:
Homer: "I wish I'd read that book by that wheelchair guy..."
Of course it does! Just go below -100,000 in your treasury, and the game ends!
Phone sex and cybering. Oh wait, long distance projects...
Now you bastard campers won't be able to collect health packs while hiding in your little towers!
Except that EVE is one server. Let's see you get 2,000 concurrent users on a WoW server and have it run smoothly, let alone 20,000.
Except that it doesn't seem to work :)

Don't build them above the trees?

Cause if it's yellow, then whoever made it didn't use snow...

This just sounds like Russian gusto to me.

Perhaps you should read the mission statement and answer this question for yourself.
...when the lead scientist sneezes on it.
The giraffe video?
.
Giraffes. Who couldn't appreciate those long necks? So slender
Why confront me? It's obvious.
She's stalling until the police arrive.
"Nothing you saw was illegal - in the countries it was filmed. "
So appropriate.
Now people will have a REASON for bringing their cell phones to a movie...*Grumble*
...Oh wait, that kind of seed. I better lay low for a while...
Time will tell, but there are only 3 problems that quantum computers are (theoretically) good at:
Integer factorization
Discrete log problems
Quantum physics simulations
More problems might be found, but I don't think you'll be running "Doom" on your quantum computer because of this limitation.
I think you mean "balogna."
