They also have restrictions about trees and shrubs having to be every few feet in a parking lot and cobble stone or brick pavers instead of concrete or black tar paving.

Here's my beef : I make it clear what my affiliations and biases are by letter. I am not a site without a direction. However, Slashdot, by nature, should use ambiguity in political beliefs. This site is "news for nerds, stuff that matters". It's news for all us geeks that get along. Some of us ARE Republican, some of us are Democrat. I don't agree with Slashdot being moderated for political or religious affiliation. But hey, it's Rob Malda and company's site. They can do what they want, when they want to, I just wish they'd make it known IN WRITING in the FAQs section about their political or opinion background - I wish they would just admit that what you described does occasionally go on.

I love my Fuji 40i - I wish I could havea greater capacity though - uses Smartmedia. I've been thinking trying to hack an XD card into a smartmedia to see if it works or either dremeling a slot where my media fits so I can use the smartmedia to XD adapter.

Sony Ericcson on the other hand reported RECORD sales and profits from their phones. Wow and whatta you know, just the opposite.

"As a fashion accessory, phones are now in the bargain-bin only a couple of months after we finished them! The ability to make money in this environment is almost zero, and the work soul-destroying."

Untrue, The t610 Sony Ericcson is a best seller... why?... because it's a good design, it works well, and all of it's feature set is relatively accessible to the laymen. It also is the single most useful piece of equipment next to my Apple Laptop I have EVER owned due to Salling Clicker and Bluetooth. It still costs $90 to the cell service providers (T616) - costs $38 to make - Sony produces a VERY big portion of the phone in house (whereas Nokia is a component combiner for the most part) and makes a pretty big profit.

I agree that margins may be thin on SOME phones, but manufacturers are getting an average of 7%-20% on total cell phone sales. IT HAS ALWAYS been the carriers that are taking the loss.

I do say, distributors should buy them directly from Adomax which DOES sell them in Asia under another name.

So, if my understanding is correct, as long as you like a product it's ok to support intellectual property theft and pathological liar owners/CEOs. It's ok for him to claim patent rights on products he doesn't have an iota of design effort into? It's ok for him to sell AND develop products for items which he does not have the licensing rights to develop for?

You need to seriously examine your ethics and integrity.

I also have NEVER, ever said that there were a lot disatisfied MacMice customers. In fact, I would say the opposite. Jack Campbell knows that with his questionable business practices, he MUST make customer service paramount.

I'll give you a quick lesson on the mouse though:

It is not that great of a mouse. If you think it feels or acts anywhere close to the quality of the Apple Mouse - you are just plain weird. It feels cheap and clicks cheap. It feels "thin" in the hand. That said, it is a mouse of a relatively standard shape, it performs like a mouse should. And, I will add that the majority of his products are nice looking and perform well.

At the initial time it was sold, which was this past Christmas, The Mouse was touted as having a better tracking DPI (AND CPI) as the Apple Mouse - it was even promoted as being one the highest CPIs in the ENTIRE "mousing market". No, Logitech's low end brand has a cheaper mouse than the MacMice Mouse that has an EVEN HIGHER resolution.

The Mouse Box is very nice looking. Notice the (TM) - Jack Campbell wants you to think he has something registered or patented. He owns NO intellectual property. He takes for granted that most people don't know you can stick (TM) on anything.

The Mouse (and other products) instructions, advertisement, and description wreak of a lack of proper footnoting and patent/trademark recognition of Apple, Griffin, and dozens of other manufacturers and designers.

If you actually READ my story on the site, you could see that there are serious offenses elsewhere - you can also read why nothing has been done about it, and why I IN PARTICULAR, have a beef with him.

I suspect you are a lackey of his. He has lots of people he's sent free products to or has buddied with him to troll the web looking for posts. If you aren't a lackey - then either you're integrity is that of SPAMHaus CEO or you lack intelligence to comprehend the grossness and perversion of business MacMice represents.

Then again, one could read that this announcement came from Motorola's web site as an indication that it won't be the last deal with a phone manufacturer. Maybe the iPhone is just further down the road.

    Apple has done this before.

The Quicktake 200 Camera was a Fuji DS7 camera - they were no different. The Apple Quicktake however used a better JPEG compression technology (read as quicktime) - that was especially developed for the Quicktake. Apple also created it's own system level camera reading and editting software.

I think this could represent a possible new hardware direction and unlike many have suggested I think this DOES possibly mean an Iphone from Apple could be in the works. Except this time, unlike the iPod that is Windows and Mac; the iPhone will be for Macs ONLY, the Moto version will be for everyone else.
