Im fine with the 35 ring tones that came with my Nokia 3310 Phone, and tone codes are everywhere on the internet, but there are all the stupid losers who phone £1.50/minute 0906 numbers to get a bastardised beeping version of the latest chart hit.
With Processing power on Mobile Phones getting better, it would make sense to be able to play REAL Sound files. A 20-30 second sound mp3 file could easily fit on a phone, and it could be worth the price of around £2 per mini song, but not a couple of silly beeps
Landline phones are starting to get more spiced up, the singing lizard phone for example. But they are FREAKING PHONES after all, and they are supposed to go RING RING, not beep beep beep beep beep beep beep, leave that to Ellen Fiess!
But its not econmicly viable. For a a few pounds I can go down to my local watch smith and get him to put in a new battery in my cheap zeon watch that lasts for several years. This is just a waste of the patent offices time.
It is the best XPlatform library out there for stuff like this! It is supported extensiveley by the community, and it is commerically used as well, you would be best off with that, because its a platform that most people have heard of, not to mention better libary compatibliilty!
In november this year, I built my self a new box and its an all linux solution! I keep a laptop with a stripped version of windows handy BUT I HAVENT needed it since I built my box!
OpenOffice handles every.doc i can chuck at it! Even the very complex ones, mplayer plays all the videos I have came across, Networkings a breeze and I would not install windows on this powerful machine!
Linux USED to be hard (Before KDE 3.0 and OpenOffice were released), but now its not! And as for games, I have my trusty game cube, and tuxracer is a load of laughs too.
I predict Microsoft could face the same fate as apple did in the 1990s, people are realising that Linux gives them more choice on software. Microsoft almost killed Apple because its operating sytems could run on cheap and open hardware, and not properitry and expensive like Macs were, now the same is happening to the software market.
Its called the Universe, its propeirty (but currently being reverse engineered), 6.3 billion people playing, and things are bought with real money! The winner is the person who manages to solve teh final puzzle (why are we here?)
Since USD and EUR are currently almost the same value as each other, they should retail for 199 EUR. Anything more and your getting ripped off. Now I havent seen any pc sold for that price in the UK (£249 is the lowest I've seen, which is about 400 EUR). If they can retail something like that in this price I WOULD be impressed!
Real men use 6508 assembly!
I would get rid of screenshop, qvc, best direct and all the other stupid shopping channels that nobody watches anyway.
They already exist

Behind my router, my computer is called 'whitebox'. Its ip adress is 192.168.2.7.
UNIX back in the 70s/80s ran on BIG BLOATED MONSTER MAINFRAMES (and thanks to mozilla, they still do). Only NERDS could understand it.
