Those movies sound terrible. And Hollywood wonders why it's in a slump? You can't make ten of something and have each be interesting/worth $10 in its own right.
Given the costs of transport down there (and the excesses of U.S. bureaucracy), $10 is probably at or below cost. And if he's loaded enough to fly planes over antarctica, a couple of thou is a drop in the bucket.
Why should the U.S. or New Zealand taxpayers have to front the bill for this guy's foolish lack of foresight? Send him home freight class... or make him wash dishes.
This is exactly the reason why direct democracy (hehem, California) never works. Voters want lower taxes, more spending, and less debt, and will vote for those things no matter how contradictory they appear to be. In this case, we voters have equal contempt for GWB and the French and we refuse acknowledge any discrpancy in the fact that they both suck balls.
So shove it, we say.
Thats the equivalent of saying, "Magnets can't give us free energy, so they must be useless"
Do you yield energy? Are you useful? Wait... forgot who I was talking to.
At least you're correct about the name difference. But you're wrong about Penn(not Penn State) being crappier than Cornell. Why would anyone go to Cornell instead of Penn? Not that I live by rankings, but US News ranks Penn(not Penn State) #4, tied with Stanford and MIT. And Cornell can't be found in the top ten! The only thing preventing Penn from getting the recognition is deserves is the name confusion.
Isn't it time someone 'terminated' useless, spawn-of-the-last-one, techno pics? I mean, really, is there someone out there who thinks, "Yeah, finally, T3, and more Ahnold."? If there is, I that much more disgusted with our species.
I don't see anything wrong with this. These people are simply trying to keep people off their property, a perfectly reasonable action. It's not like they're brutalizing or shooting them. The Border Patrol isn't effectively carrying out the laws of the nation, so these folks are doing something about it.
And to be frank, you really sound paranoid. Just because Slashdot editors didn't pick your article, it means everyone's against you? Your paranoia is about as subtle as the alien probe in your neck.
"You economics textbook is wrong. Theoretically, one company could always undercut the other, eventually selling everything at, or even below, cost, but this never happens unless a large company is dumping the market."
No, that Econ textbook is Not Wrong. Notice the qualifier "In perfect competition." Economically speaking, the poster cant find his butt with both hands. Perfect Competition involves supreme heterogeneity, and a FLAT (perfectly inelastic) demand function. The poster seems to think that the demand function is sloped. He must have gone to Vassar.

Right, because China cares so much more about OSs than Taiwan. Thats why they have nukes aimed at Redmond.

Sorry, my friend, but you're off by 20%. According to the UN, 97% of Americans can read. Not as many was we'd like, but far from 23% illiterate.
