    They shouldn't but student loans are with you forever. The hurdle to get them discharged in bankruptcy is incredibly high and most people will never reach it. So you will pay them back. It might take forever, but it will get paid back.

    True, but what's max traffic going to be 2 weeks after launch? A month? They can't build for the max usage scenario, because that's just not going to last. Don't get me wrong, they still screwed up, but this problem occurs on just about every MMO's launch too.

    Not necessarily, Verizon also uses a SIM for its LTE network.

    SRT will cache windows files. The best use of it is to just buy a 64gb drive and use the whole thing for caching. I'm currently doing just that and for things on the drive, it runs just like having an SSD. I can tell when I go back to a game I've not played in a while and it has to pull the data off the HD, but after that first load, all the same. Stuff like windows and chrome don't get pushed off because I'm always using them.

    Yes, but patents don't protect idea. They protect implementations. You can make a widget that does X, and I can make another widget that also does X. If they do them in sufficiently different ways; we can both patent our widgets. The problem is that overly broad patents are being issued.

    Yeah, that didn't happen on the shift from 2.0 to 2.1 to 2.2 to 2.3. There's not a lot of technical reasons that most android devices don't get updated, but most don't.

    Correct, the real trick is to write your patent to be specific enough to be granted, but broad enough to cover more than your specific implementation of your idea. Meaning a good patent attorney could craft an anti-graviton hoverboard patent to also cover an orphan heart one.

    Plus, you can disable it completely in the BIOS and it will act like an extra heat sink for one core.

    Yup, any patent that has a software step should be required to disclose the source code at least as the best mode of the patent, if not part of the claims (depending on how strict you should be. When I'm elected Leader of the world, this will be like the 11th or 12th thing I'll do in office.

    There are mechanical reasons for the 2 party dominant system in the US and other countries as well. If you take a theoretical system that has 3 preference groups, proportioned at say 30%, 30% and 40% of the population. Call them Left, Center and Right. In a system like the US where the first party to get a majority of votes wins, Right will win an election with 40% of the votes. Assuming that their goals aren't diametrically opposed, it only makes sense for Left and Center to team up in the next election, which they would win with 60%. For a real life example, see Ralph Nader & Al Gore in 2000, or Perot & HW Bush in 1992. One side's preferences were split between two candidates and that let the other side win.

    Yeah, its like they could get people to write down their life lessons and experiences, and then bind those pages together and loan out the bound pages. We could call them bopages or something catchy and hook the kids.

    Because there's a good chance that just paying the 5 bucks was cheaper. Wikipedia says that between 5 and 6 million Apple II's were sold. Assuming 5.5 million were sold and that all of them are affected by this patent, that's 27.5 million over 16 years as opposed to a patent lawsuit up front and missing out on the first few years of sales.
