Why on earth would anybody care about voice calls when LTE users should have the speed and bandwidth to handle real VoIP calls?
The biggest reason is that once everyone is transitioned over to Voice on LTE, three of the four major carriers in the US will be working on the same technology which will give a level of phone interoperability that the US has never seen. Quite honestly, it will change the game to have the ability to take your phone with you instead of relying upon carrier subsidies if you switch.
I'm kind of surprised too, but this could also be part of an ad-supported phone, pay for the phone get minutes by watching an ad every so often. I just don't see apple putting this into their desktop OS unless its for a special internet cafe edition.
Net neutrality is government regulating the ability for ISPs and other network providers to do what they want with their bandwith and other hardware. That they are excluding them from making restrictions is a restriction in and of itself, which to libertarians is a Very Bad Thing(tm).
yes, but whether or not Verizon will offer them is an entirely other question. I want to say I heard something about Verizon saying they would do so, but I don't remember where or when I did.
Yup, as someone who auto-hides the start bar at the top of the screen, Chrome is basically unusable with the mouse with my setup. At least I'm pretty sure that this would be an option with firefox.
That was changed by the time that Paramount sold it off though. It got re-branded to Nickelodeon. I would imagine that things would stay the same until the current contract period ends.
Yeah, I'm having a hard time figuring out how this would play any differently than a normal RTS. Except now, you send your units back in time before they attack instead of just sending them to attack.
No, the retail price of Snow Leopard is $169. You cannot buy Snow Leopard without buying the "Mac Box" which includes Snow Leopard, iLife '09 and iWork '09. Thus, if you're upgrading from Tiger, you either need to buy Leopard now and the upgrade or pay extra.
Honestly, I think its been a chicken and egg problem for a while. Nobody used multiple cores on the desktop because software didn't take advantage of it and the software didn't take advantage of it because nobody had multiple processors. Intel and AMD realized that if they wanted to keep on the MOAR POWAR treadmill, they were going to have to start packing more cores into the processors. There's no reason to think that programmers won't catch up eventually. We're already seeing stuff take advantage of dual cores.
Ah, I remember when they changed the behavior from FF1 to 2. I stopped using it until I found out about that option in about:config. For a browser that's as open as Firefox, some of their decisions about user choice are pretty infuriating.
For example, look at Nintendo during the NES/SNES eras. Apple should build an automatic scanner for malware and approve apps that are malware free in a matter of hours.
As a counter example, consider Atari before the crash of '83. There's a balance to be had between allowing everything and keeping out crap.
I agree that wow is heading to burnout. With that to say, the word I intend to add is "thankfully". The game was a game-changer at first, but now it's just gimmick. I wonder how much activision had to do with that.
Nothing, since WotLK was announced and probably half done before the merger occured?
I think for a lot of players interest waxes and wanes within each expansion cycle. I played from launch for about a year. Stopped until the 1st expansion, played that until bored. Stopped until the 2nd expansion, played that until I got bored again. The coming back to things is a lot of fun, until you've seen the new sights and get back on the treadmill. I'm not the only person I know that's played like this. I had a lot of fun when I came back to the last expansion. Not so much by the time I left. I'm sure it'll be the same way again.
Yeah, seems this only affects the beta versions from their Dev channel.
That is far funnier than any xkcd has been. Bravo
Shinier than yours meatbag

Then you've found a keeper

They might not put it in their desktop OSes, but sounds to me like this is made for the iPhone and an official ADs api for it.

Its not illegal to have a monopoly of your own product. And yes there are.
That's actually a good commercial. Too bad its for a shitty product.

Anything from Apple is considered magically delicious and explicitly loathed here.

Some do, some don't. I don't believe that any of them on Verizon or Sprint do, but some of AT&T's and T-Mobiles do.

Even if they call it world of warcraft and just use the settings/characters, it might not suck...
