    If they didn't charge $100 for shipping, and tax on top of it. That makes it a mediocre price. And $25 for the USB cable to use with your FREE printer? At least they don't ask $50 like Best Buy, but what a rip-off! Most folks probably don't realize they can buy a USB cable for like $3, and I guess that's what the jerks are counting on.

    Most "cheap" consumer UPSs that I've come in contact with don't provide line conditioning. All they do is quickly switch on if the voltage gets too high or too low, but they don't run constantly providing a "clean" source of power.

    Any idea which ones? Is it a local decision/policy at each base, or what? I'd be using Firefox at work, if only I had admin priviledges on the box in our office. (Scott AFB)
    And by the way, is there any kind of policy against spyware? Every machine I come across has some sort of crapware installed on it, such as GAIN, blahblah-toolbar, etc. Can't get rid of it, either, since I'm a limited user...

    By the way, I also found it strange that we get paid by Uncle Sam, and then he takes some of it right back. I agree that it would be nice to just make our base pay non-taxable as well, just to simplify things... But then again, I'd also like to see income tax done away with entirely, or at least vastly simplified.

    Discover Card has similar capabilities, I think the only difference is that they don't let you set the expiry date. Plus you get cash back on your purchases! (up to 2% if you redeem from one of their "partners" that doubles the reward - I always get Sharper Image gift cards and then sell 'em on eBay)

    It's not that it's not working completely, but every once in a while (about as often as before installing the extension) I get the same kind of mis-rendered page. The page has definitely finished loading... Throbber not throbbing, page loaded completely including copyright notice, etc. I'm on a "good" 'net connection, and the server doesn't seem bogged down at all, so... Anyway, the forced reflow trick with CTL +/CTL - still works, so I don't know what could be going on. Just thought I'd let you know my experience. And by the way, it sucks about the lack of documentation... Thanks for your effort though!

    I downloaded your extension yesterday and installed it... I'm currently using it, and it doesn't seem to work, since I've had to CTL +/CTL - quite a few times in the past hour or so. Just checked to make sure that it is, in fact running. And yes, I did close and restart firefox. (running 1.0 now)

    I'm just wondering: what are these other animals using them for? And how can you be so sure that we humans don't use them? My understanding was that the tonsils function as a part of the immune system, constantly sampling new pathogens in order to generate an immune response.

    How can you be so sure about this? Did you know that women that live together in close quarters for long periods of time eventually share the same menstrual cycle? How do you explain that?

    I was looking for a cheap printer recently, and saw the HP Inkjet 3520 selling at Wal-mart for $29, with an included tri-color ink cartridge. That ink cartridge alone cost $22. I had heard of the scam that the included toner cartridges with laser printers is only half full, so I checked the volume of ink that it came with and compared it to the ink cartridge sold by itself, and sure enough they were the same. (8ml) Bingo! $7 printer! You have any links about less-than-full included ink cartridges? I'd just be curious.

    I wonder if you've actually ever tried doing that. I did a few months ago, and the moment I mixed the epoxy and Arctic Silver, the whole thing solidified instantly. Maybe it depends on what kind of epoxy you use? I was using Dubble Bubble...

    I did the same thing for a friend who lives in Turkey. I was visiting him and his motherboard's northbridge fan was dying a noisy death, and the nearest computer store was a few hours away, so... We took an old AMD CPU heat sink, sawed it in half, put some thermal goop between it and the chip, and epoxy all the way around the edges.
    It'll never come off again, but who cares?! Nice pictures of yours, by the way.

    Just FYI, Knoppix IS Debian... Debian without the pain of installation.
    It runs directly from a CDROM - you don't even need a hard drive! It's certainly worth taking a look if you haven't already.

    Another reason that may not be so obvious is that the Average Joe who's sitting at his computer when it suddenly reboots may assume that he bumped the reset button, or there was a power surge, etc... Better (for Microsoft) than the guy looking at a Blue Screen and blaming "*&%$#%'n Windows!!!"

And the best part is that you can click links from places like Sharereactor, come back to your computer 24 hours later and it's there, with no further intervention from you required.
    Just click and walk away...

    I've visited areas of The Netherlands where folks were quick to point out the fact you just mentioned, and objected loudly to the whole country being referred to as Holland. So why is it that every single souvenier I have ever seen from your country is labeled "Made in Holland"? Once your country reaches a concensus on what to call itself, then you have my permission to go around evangalizing others on the topic.
    And by the way, others might have known what to call your country if it had been identified in the World Cup earlier this year. Oops!
