I don't see why everyone is out buying $500 phones.
I still have my "Zach Morris" phone which requires a backpack just to lug it around. Sure it doesn't have internet access and such, but it's does what its suppose to do, let me make telephone calls.
Was the only one who read that as "Look inside the Vagina" and then soon realize in no way could vaginas have any relation whatsoever to slashdot news?
It's things like these that make me glad to be Canadian.
I bet you one day Canada will become what the founding fathers of America had visioned what the USA should be.
If an employer refuses to hire you because you were in a mental hospital 10 years ago, is that not discrimination and therefore making them liable to a lawsuit?
Besides, if you were in a mental hospital I think it'd be a nice thing for everyone to know about seeing as how you're a psycho.
If I purchase 50 CDs, rip them into mp3s, and then toss them onto my computer.
Let's say perhaps my computer was ridden with spyware and KaZaa managed to install itself. If I was a computer neophyte and all of a sudden being sued for sharing these songs, is that not a little ridiculous?
How could they hold me liable for that? It's like sueing Microsoft because they unknowingly left thousands of vulnerabilities in their software and now many computers are being crippled because of it.
The solution to the RIAA's problems with file-sharing, is simply to embrace it.
All they gotta do, is start selling blank cd albums, with everything the normal cd has, except the songs just haven't been burnt onto it.
Sell the blank cd for half the price of a normal cd, say $7 or so.. then the customer can go on their favorite file-sharing, download the songs, and then burn them.
Lots of universities have their course information online. I fail to see why this case is of any significance?
I don't consider waiting 10 days for them to transfer money from my paypal account to my bank very fast.
You could get a modded xbox for about $200 that will play DVD, CD, SVCD, VCD, DIVX, MPEG, XVID, all streaming over a network from your computer.
Unfortunately we do have a patriot act that was introduced soon after USA introduced theirs.

A while ago I wanted to run a couple BBS door games on my webserver and allow people to connect through telnet. I found this wasn't a very easy task.
Although I did find there is a very detailed guide on how to do it using Synchronet and as mentioned in this article DOSEMU.
I take offense to this headline. I'm a zombie you insensitive clod!

There still exists no privacy among torrent seeders/sharers.
Your IP is easily displayed, and all an RIAA executive has to do is start up the torrent and look for those who are sharing at 100%.
Anonymous Coward, haha, go back to the hole you crawled out of, loser.
So someone has a quote in their e-mail signature... I don't get why we have to make a scene out of it

It's just a scare tactic. Who's willing to bet that no one is going to pay the $3500? I am!
Is it illegal to possess it? If not, then how are they going to prove it was being used by the owner?

I'm just curious..
How exactly do they go about finding these people? It's not like they openly give out their names on things like KaZaa?
Great gaming comic-strip! Contains the great trolling laughter you see her on slashdot. Check it out here
Didn't napster try this after being slapped in the face by lawyers?
Yadda yadda, try and sell stuff.. yadda yadda bankruptcy..
Yadda yadda, KaZaa shuts down.
Yadda yadda, new filesharing program called PoToo spawns and the circle of pirating continues.
