When I was fixing laptops - Compaq in this case - we had many laptops come in with no HDD (security reasons) In any case we would test them with our own drives with test S/W on them.
I used to work for HP/Compaq laptop repair. Many systems for warranty repair came in with the HDD removed - presumably for security reasons. In any case we always tested the unit with our own test drives. Bottom line HP/Compaq didn't care what OS you ran.
I am assuming that the Open Office suite is included, but what else? Come to that what should be included, how about an open virus scanner for Windows.
In the 1980's they digitized the Domesday Book. Trouble was the format they used is now obsololete. The good news (apart from still having the origional) they have re-inveted the wheel.

According to the article -
"some scientists say the atmosphere might simply become too cloudy in a hydrogen economy, emitting vast amounts of water vapor"
I have never heard this before as a reason not to to use hydrogen. Surely any combustion engine will produce water vapor - does Hydrogen produse more than gasoline ?
I cannot easily envisage a picorad - but an accuracy of 1cm in 300 million km !!! I'm more use to working with plus or minus half a brick, it's close enough for government work.
This seems like an obvious thing to do. I am sure that if a 911 call from whatever source could NOT be located, then most/.ers would be complain and saying why not! If cell phone or VOIP usage grows so quickly that the providers can't keep up, then slow down the growth untill they can.
After getting a real degree (Electronics) and many years later spending ony a couple of months in getting a CNE and 3 more months in getting a MSCP - thanks to a generous company willing to fund me - I can say that these quickie qualifications are interesting, but not worth the big bucks. The only reason I have them is because my company says they have so many certified people on the staff.
One of the things that killed the passenger flying wing project was that folks on the outside of the aircraft will be going up and down too much when the plane rolls. This design appears to have the same problem.
Hand out the sick bags!!!
I don't know about Sun, but HPs long term plans are to ditch home grown chips - Alpha, HP-PA and even the otherpersons MIP chips - used in the HP(Tandem)non-stop- and switch to Itanium.

Nice troll, but the Hindeburg fire was most likely caused by the inflamable gas envelope - not the gas itself.
Have they fixed the 985 bugs - if they have how many bugs are left ?
A 3 day test match in 30 minutes!
