  1. It costs a lot here, for AT&T. Every couple of months, the price went up. When they botched a move of DSL service to a new residence, I gave up on AT&T and went wireless-only for primary phone. I have Google Voice which I use on cable internet for those times I don't want to use airtime.

    As for a real phone, I can connect a headset to my mobile or use Google Voice with a gaming quality headset.

    Long term, I should be paying less per month than I was with AT&T in the mix.

    I used to go through watches like I used to go through chocolate.

    I bought my last watch in 2009. I wear it a few times per week. Light charges it. It's on the original battery. I never have to set it, because it listens to WWV.

    Casio FTW.

    I'm still on 3Mbps DSL because I use a reseller who offers uncapped service.

    Until I can get faster speed, uncapped, for the same price, I'll stick with what I have.

    If FreeBSD worked with my tuner devices (cx88 PCI cards and an xc5000 USB device) together with MythTV, I'd consider switching. Might be time to check again.

    When Niantic decided that all players with rooted devices were no longer welcome, that pretty much ended the game for me. I was playing it with my spouse, and getting more exercise, but I shouldn't have to jump through yet more hoops to use this product. I'd do just as well reading a book while walking.

    Some devices are rooted by default, some by choice. That alone is not an indicator of cheating.

    Ting (owned by TUCOWS) is another great contender. For CDMA, they use the Sprint network with better roaming agreements than Virgin Mobile. For GSM, they use T-Mobile's network.

    They're also pay-as-you-go but with finer-grained control than Consumer Cellular had when I compared the two and one doesn't have to choose pricing tiers - pricing really is pay-as-you-go, with a bare minimum of $6/mo for each device.
