  1. Re:Makes sense on Caffeine Addicts Get No Additional Perk, Only a Return To Baseline · · Score: 1

There is actually lot less caffeine in most soda than coffee. You would have to drink about 4 cans of Coke to equal one cup of coffee, although the sugar bomb from the HFCS is a different story. http://www.cspinet.org/new/cafchart.htm

  2. Is it just me? on Cinder Mobile OS Lets Users Send More Power To Slow Apps · · Score: 0, Redundant

Is it just me or does this seem like a revival of the turbo button on my old 386?

  3. Re:they beat google mail ???? on Yahoo's Geek Statue · · Score: 1

Yeah, Gmail can offer 2.5+ GB and POP because it only allows a few US users (relatively) with mobile phones (yes, workarounds exist but that is not the point). If you want to be elitist and say that is fine, great. But Yahoo supports at least 10 times as many users! What makes you think it is not trying to upgrade its capacity but is rather taking the time to make sure it is done right?

Yeah you elitists! The proletariat will rise up against gmail! Then you will see! Oh wait, what? What? He's on crack? Oh, ok, never mind.

  8. Re:My geek b0yfriend's n0t h0me right n0w... on Online Replacements for Desktop Apps? · · Score: 1

I did something similar to this last year to one of my friends on campus. I made an "automated" message from the RIAA saying they had found him sharing mp3s on the campus network and that if he didn't delete them he would be sued. His roommate, who was not very technically adept, took the call and left him a message on the whiteboard:

    Peter,
A robot called and said you are in trouble for sharing mp3s.
    -John
He fell for it hook line and sinker.

  9. spellcheck4u@hotmail.com on AOL To Charge for AIM Videoconferences · · Score: 2, Informative

AIM was often sited as a rare example of a large company offering up a free service that generated almost no profit whatsoever.

That's nothing. I've seen an entire orchestra of automatons (automata?) at "The House on the Rock" in Wisconsin. You put a quarter in a slot, and the life-size orchestra plays for a while.

Now all they need is a orchestra of robots to push F5 to reload Slashdot for you.

You say that jokingly, but the Bush administration said almost this exact same thing to the United Nations:

The parent said pay off bills or invest. There are some things are intrinsically true, and that my friend is always good advice.
