    And do it with ignorance.
This will happen because the open source model, which lets anyone modify source code and sell or distribute the results, virtually guarantees that someone, somewhere, will insert malicious code into the source.

Someone tell this guy source code is verified and supervised before making it to releases. Pffft trolling to fame is easier than ever.

OTOH, I think circunventing a procedure you're against is not a valid nor effective way to fight it. I simply don't read the article. Screw them. I also try not to comment on it (anything on-topic, at least). That's my way of letting Slashdot know what I think about their stupid NYT references - especially when there are other sources allowing me to read on the same topic, and those are sources with more credibility IMO (like possibly Lessig's own site in this case?).

That info you provided is probably useful for those not in the know about Google's basic utilities, but I think you should've mentioned somewhere it's not a legit procedure.

I mean... why not having a couple of teen amateurs controlling a multiton machine that's orbitting over our heads? I see nothing wrong with that and we could possibly get linux compiling in it's firmware. That's some serious new horizons for the space race. Screw Mars

That's right 10-15 = -5 years, so it should have been declared Open Source 5 years prior to release. Hurry up!
