Spimming is wrong. And bad. There should be a new, stronger word for spimming. Like badwrong, or badong. Yes, spimming is badong. From this moment, I will stand for the opposite of spimming: gnodab.
These three big, burly inmates (BBI) some walking on on a small stocky fellow (SSF)...
BBI: So, what are you in for fresh meat?
SSF: You asking me?
BBI: Yea, you!
SSF: Tell me what you in for first then I'll tell you my crime.
BBI: Fine! Rape, murder and blew up a police station! Now you!
SSF: I downloaded a copy of HalfLife 2 and bypassed the copy protection.
BBI: Oh... er.. sorry.. we didn't know you were one of them "hard core" criminal types.. We'll be leaving now.
Has anyone else seen the commercial with the two sitting outside eating lunch and the one is describing his new phone.. the description he gave almost fits to a T the Samsung "Thor" concept phone. And if I remember the commercial right.. even looks like it as well.
Japanese Man 1 : RUN! IT'S ZILLA! Japanese Man 2 : It looks like Zilla, but due to international copyright laws - it's not. Japanese Man 1 : STILL! WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS ZILLA! Japanese Man 2 : Though it isn't.
This sounds like it was made for females and "girly men"... I don't drive cars made for women (all you guys driving PT Crusiers should know that;)) and I wont use a developing tool made for them either!
Come on.. this is an example of a VERY poorly managed network.
At work we have 20K users in the US alone. We actualy don't have that bad of a time dealing with viruses and worms and the like.
Why? Because 98% of the users get pushed their virus updates and their OS updates. This includes the clueless people.
We also run network scans and know WHEN computers were updated. If the computer is connnected to the network, we know what updates it has or doesn't have. The only hard part is FINDING the unpatched computers.
We also have a firewall that prevets P2P connections, FTP and anything else non web browser related (gets anoying at times).
In reading this story.. I can only assign 1% of the blame on the users and 99% of the blame on the admins for not doing a proper job.
No, not joking. At work, somewhere, there is an infected computer and while rebuilding a computer I plugged it in to run the updates for 2K and antivirus. Less than a minute after pluging it in, I was crashing and burning.
Had to go to a patched computer, download the needed updates and burn them to CD and update the computer that way first before plugging it onto the network.
REALLY anoying.. and when I find the user with the infected computer.. well, lets say I'll have a new storage location for this dead notebnook hard drive...
Lets see.. only ~ 10,000 Hummers/H2s on the road.. I think the odds of getting hit by one are slim to none.
I think a lightweight car has more to worry about than vehicles.. how about wind and immovable objects, and even bad driving? They cause a heck of a lot more wrecks than a big SUV.
I mean, if I have to send it to someone, hope they receive it on their PDA, open and install it and have a wireless or wired connection for it to work..
Wouldn't it just be easier to send them the Amish Virus instead?
2.the owner of the vechicle must be able to get access to the data (i.e. dump and read it, not change it)
Can already do. You can get scanners to hook up and read the data stored in the car.
3.the only other people who should legally be able to read it are the police with a warrant. (or e.g. the NTSB or some other agency, again with a warrant)
Car gets totaled, you no longer own it as soon as they give you a check for the insurance coverage. So they can do what ever they please with it then.
4.It should be illegal for anyone else (e.g. mechanics) to dump the data without permission from the owner.
Make sure you read that paper you sign when getting work done on your car then.
5.they should not record any information that would link the car to the location the car was at at the time the data was collected.
Then don't get any vehicle with onstar or satellite radio then...

I couldn't recreate it at least.
It LOOKS nice....
And if you cut class and try to get away... a giant bouncing ball comes and hunts you down...
Imagine Goldmember this way:
Japanese Man 1 : RUN! IT'S ZILLA!
Japanese Man 2 : It looks like Zilla, but due to international copyright laws - it's not.
Japanese Man 1 : STILL! WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS ZILLA!
Japanese Man 2 : Though it isn't.
No.. it just isn't as funny..
"I am sorry Dave. I cannot allow you to agreee to this agreement."
What is this ... new code that women talk in now?
This sounds like it was made for females and "girly men"... I don't drive cars made for women (all you guys driving PT Crusiers should know that ;)) and I wont use a developing tool made for them either!
Now, if you will excuse me.. my wife is calling.
Nice thing though, the Ford's on/off for cruse was more dependable than the speed setting..
Becuse of that.. any vehicle with cruise in it, I wants turn it off and back on and reset it that way.. never use resume anymore.

There are some stills. But only of the actors. Nothing on how the war machines look yet. Or the thunderchild.
Should check out the Chrome trailer, pretty interesting.
Nothing for you to see here. Please move along.
Instead of the story..
All my calls go to the answering machine...
Off = No Bugs /.
Yellow Lamp = Warnings
Red Lamp = Broken Code
Exploding Lamp = Got linked off of
That's all I need is some 16 year old parking his AeroFart 9000 Air Car into my roof because he was showing off to his girl friend..
It's a bad idea and is not ready for any kind of "public" use for a good number of years.
I mean.. if /. gets taken down by this... I can get more work done finally! ;)
It is an EDS supported network... I guess we get what we pay for :\

1) US car companies DO get funding for research into fule effeciency. (Read a news paper once and a while)
2) Big Oil DOES NOT fund car companines, they fund their own lobbyist in Washington.

For $4000 you can get a Tech3 reader and read any GM vehicles computer.
And if your THAT worried after a wreck, the computer/black box is located behind the center console area of GM vehicles.

Yep, I paid for it .. lol.
