This is quite a key point. A perfect store would be one where an individual in one country can trade easily with someone in another country. With E-Bay this is not so. You have to use the wretched PayPal or similar schemes none of which work properly and all skim off more of the proceeeds.

Correct. The US media is tends to take a short term outlook on most incidents when what is desperatly needed is a longer term perspective. eg. its fine reporting 9/11 etc but not good at presenting the reasons why people have such hatred of the US/The West.
In any case the US media is not owned by the government however they are 'influenced' by the advertising companies.

In a time when much of the media has placed there collective critical facilities in neutral its refreshing to see some willing to step up and point at the dross with an almost Swiftian combination of humour and anger.
Hope to see some more reviews from this person. Preferably a more up to date film.

This is another interresting idea on making systems that can self-adapt and grow/repair without intervention from engineers.
This is fine but if we take the 'nature' analogy that this science is following what happens when disease or illness strikes? For example a computer virus or trojan.
We will be dependent on crucial systems that, at some stage in the future, we will not understand how they work or how to repair them quickly.
This maybe acceptable for cell phone networks but what would happen if this was an air traffic control system?
I'm all for following the route in the Cnet article but we need to ensure that we build in processes to control and understand the changes that the system is implementing.

When you leave the motorway your vehicle is again photographed and the central database scans for your registration number. The computer can then do a simple calculation on how long it took you to travel from point A to point B. If this calculation equates to a speed > 70 MPH you'll get a court summons in the post. As you wont gave a leg to stand on defence wise you can at least plead guilty by post. Hurrah for technology.
