That's not the point I'm making. I'm with Virgin for my cable broadband as well. They have in place a cap that kicks in between 4pm and 9pm if you download over a certain amount that day. This limits your up and down stream. If someone on your network has a P2P app running that eats up all the upstream the whole connection will feel like dialup speeds.
You do realise they're not capping you to dialup speeds, more like 1mbit down and reduced up stream.
It's probably someone you're sharing the connection with whoring all the upstream and making it feel like dialup. They start the cap at 4pm and it runs for 4 hours. Make sure everyone sets up a schedule on their P2P software to limit it back heavily.

What I want to know is why he was running the CPU underspeed? The Q6600 is clocked at 2.4ghz out the box and can be easily pushed to 3.6ghz with just air cooling.
I've done the update this morning as have many other people. The hacks all still work. The only noticeably difference is when you put a game disc in with an update on the game channel icon notifies you before you enter the game channel.
I've been using this fix since before August for other windows update problems. Did notice an increase in how often I had to use it but didn't work out why.
Chip your Wii and import it. It's a fantastic game. Just make sure your Wii is fully updated before trying to play it our you'll end up with a bricked system.
Anything you can do with the DS, you can do with the iPhone.
Except play brain training, or nintendogs, or pokemon, or new super mario bros, or have it cost you (and I mean the average person who can't hack it, and even if you can it's still gonna cost you £250+) less than £100.
The iPhone is a flashy gadget, it's not a games console and it won't ever be.
Amen.
And the video they post is like watching a slideshow!
It's taking off now. http://www.fibrecity.eu/
I can't work out who's geekier. The guys holding C64 lan parties or you running websites through the W3 validator...
Wow. That sucks. Virgin cable is a fantastic service, the short cap period is never that much of an issue. My deepest condolences!

The JPN version of SSBB runs fine on my UK Wii...

You haven't even got to the cake! You've got a fair bit more gaming to do yet. The first 18 chambers are merely practice for the best bit.
There's info out there explaining how to edit a file in each levels directory to remove the censorship on the PSP.
I don't have a PSP to try it though. Of course it's going to require a modded PSP as well.

The moral of the story is, don't buy anything from PC World if you expect anything from the warranty.
No no! The moral of the story is, don't buy anything from PC World full stop!
Very easy. There's an article on how to do it in this months PCW magazine. (UK)

CD+G has actually been used quite a lot in karaoke systems.
They did, it's called CD-Text. It wasn't originally in the redbook standard but it's quite common now.

Never thought I'd be explaining this on /.
