    But idle machines will still use power. Then the new cluster they have to build to do the job uses power. All the extra machines took power to build and used various nasty chemicals. All this will contribute to damaging the environment in some way. I'd rather just use the facilities I already have.

    Since when did it become law for everyone to release every distro they make? I don't think this is going to be as much of a problem as you make out. The newbie linux user is more likely to end up with one of the 'safe' distros anyway.

    I'd think that a planes electronics and cabling is shielded considerably better than any electronics you can find in your house. You're comparing apples and oranges.

    It will only block pop-ups that are initiated by a website. It sounds like you've got a computer full of spyware/adware. Stop installing things like kazaa and get yourself some decent cleaning software. I personally recommend Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy.
