Fructose is digested in the liver very similar to the way alcohol is digested, whereas dextrose (aka glucose) can be used by every cell in the body. The fructose in fruit is probably okay because you're also taking in fiber, some vitamins, and other nutrients - much better than empty calories.
Dr. Lustig has a great video on youtube explaining in great detail about the dangers of HFCS. The video is about 1.5 hours long, but well worth watching. https://youtu.be/dBnniua6-oM
On the subject of coffee, there's almost nothing that a good cup of coffee won't cure . . . . except maybe erectile dysfunction. Don't ask how I know.
No, no, no! We need more journalists. There are only a handful of real journalists left. The ones you're complaining about are really advocates for one side or the other pretending to be journalists.
I think most readers are smart enough to recognize the difference between journalism and advocacy. My main complaint is that very few of them (the pretenders) seem to educated. It's nearly impossible to read an article by one of our local writers without finding multiple misspelled words and a few grammatical errors. Words are their tools and you'd think a "professional" writer would know how to use those tools.
This technology might be justifiable if the UK were serious about fighting terrorism, but they're not really serious. At best this is just security theater. At worst it's part of an ever-growing police state. Terrorism is just an excuse. They'll ignore it until it's impossible to stop the totalitarianism.
When I need my prescription refilled, I just text my pharmacist (my daughter) at Walgreens and tell her when I can be there to pick it up. She responds with an "OK" and tells me how much it will be. Doesn't everyone have a pharmacist in the family?
Amazon's delivery is so unreliable that I'd NEVER trust my health to it. People on meds need their meds to be available when they need them, not when some driver decides to deliver them. I have had one Amazon item (battery charger) stolen by a USPS employee. I wonder how many drugs they'll steal once Amazon starts shipping them.
I know several pharmacies in the area that offer free delivery to your home. How can Amazon compete with something that is free AND reliable?
One of my biology professors way back in the early seventies told us that life's four characteristics were the four F's -- Foraging (finding food), Feeding (eating food), Filling out (growing), and Reproduction (well he couldn't say 'Fucking' in class).
Oliver is a twit. He's not funny and his voice is very irritating. How did he get a show on HBO? Oh, that's right, HBO has very low standards. China isn't missing a thing.
There's a saying in American football that you could probably call holding on every play. It's just about true, just watch slo-motion replays. Refs can't see everything all the time*, so most holding isn't called. It's part of the game. With robot refs there would be a flag thrown on just about every play and the game would grind to a halt.
*It's hard to see around or through players who are the size of giants, plus the field has a crown so it's hard to see from one sideline to the other. Ever play the game? You know what I mean.
I watch football because I love the game. I'm way too old to play anymore, but I like watching the games. And I much prefer to watch alone. Having other people around me is a distraction.
I get plenty of exercise on my job by walking all day. Not the kind of walking you'd do for exercise, but more like cross-country walking - through yards, up hills, down hills, through the woods - usually covering 10 to 15 miles per day. When I get off from work the LAST thing I want to do is go somewhere and exercise.
That's similar to states that don't have a sales tax on food, well some food. Whether something you eat qualifies as a food that can be taxed sometimes depends on whether you have to cook it or you can simply eat it right out of the package.
States, counties, and cities created this jigsaw puzzle of tax jurisdictions; and states, counties, and cities need to simplify the system. How about one simple sales tax rate for the whole freaking state?
Here where I live we have a 4% state tax, a 4% county tax and a 2% city tax. We pay as much to the government in sales tax as we tithe to the church. And just the other day I heard that a city nearby was seriously considering raising their sales tax to 3%!!
I like the way you think. I use metal utensils for eating, bamboo utensils for cooking, metal mixing bowls and glass containers for storage.
I do use paper plates and bowls sometimes, but they go in the compost pile. Nearly everything except meat scraps and oils can be composted.
The only problem I have right now is that I'm up to my ass in empty Amazon boxes. They're a pain to break down and put in the recycling bin, but if I don't catch up soon they'll bury me!
If it's good enough for me, it's good enough for everybody!
Seriously though, I don't use Comic Sans. I generally choose fonts that are easy for *me* to read. Right now I like Arial and Verdana. Sans serif fonts are easier for me to read than serif fonts. Don't even get me started about script fonts.
Almost everybody can tell when somebody is really bad drunk. You know the obvious signs - nearly falling down, slurred speech, etc.. The people who have been drinking and are not obviously drunk are not a problem. So what does the AI add that humans can't do?
Your logic is odd, to say the least. Nearly everybody that this 140 year protection would benefit are Democrats or Progressives. If anything, electing more Democrats might result in copyright protection for an even longer time.

It started a long time ago, way before English. Check out Latin for a good example.
sum - I am,
es - you are,
est - he, she or it is
I use a real camera for important photos. A phone's tiny lens can't come close to the lenses I have.
The phone camera is just for snapshots and convenience.

Intelligent life is a whole other beast.

I've never seen anybody pay sales tax at a yard sale, and sometimes the items are brand new.
:)
Maybe online businesses should just call themselves huge yard sales.

You left out those of us with gout! Meat and beer, especially beer, are a no-no.
Well, I do partake of them in very limited quantities, but that's only because I'm taking some very good medicine.

You don't drive on the roads around here. Take that lid off and the next pothole or bump will give you a lap full of soft drink.
0bama did it, too. I don't remember you complaining back then.

No, AT&T is buying Time Warner, NOT Time Warner Cable. Time Warner Cable was bought by Spectrum this year.

Oh, come on! Even the left-leaning Snopes site disagrees with you. It had more to do with redefining what a border crosser was than mere numbers.
But drink the Kool-Aid and believe what you're told.
Millions of NFL fans care and they showed how much they cared last season. Time will tell if the NFL can ever get them back.
NFL players are on the job and whatever the bosses say is what they do. If they want to protest anything, they have plenty of free time to do so.
Human guinea pigs!
Well, that's more complimentary than saying "human white mice". Who wants to be a mouse?
Your logic is odd, to say the least. Nearly everybody that this 140 year protection would benefit are Democrats or Progressives. If anything, electing more Democrats might result in copyright protection for an even longer time.
It works if the owner of the copyrighted material lives 140 years. For everybody else it doesn't "work" at all.
3-D printed tiny homes. They sure look futuristic, but I wouldn't buy one.
