Inexpensive filter straws have been around for years. I don't see how this is that much better. There was nothing in the article about price or effectiveness of the filter itself. All we have is the designer's opinion, and of course he's naturally going to praise his own invention.
It's not just American soldiers who were put in danger. Afghan civilians (and their families) who cooperated with us were also put in danger.
I know they tried to completely purge names, but they weren't very successful at it or maybe they just didn't care. What's a few Afghan families if wikileaks can make the U.S. look bad?
I agree, and we should further add that only citizens who can vote for a candidate could donate money to that candidate. That would stop money coming in from other cities, counties, states, and even other countries.
I get really suspicious if a candidate for a local office gets money from out of state.
I don't mind HOV lanes as long as the traffic there maintains the speed limit. What I have observed, however, is that it takes only one slow driver to turn the HOV lane into the slow lane. Then you have people having to cross 2 or 3 lanes of faster moving traffic to get to their exits.
Somewhere there's a traffic engineer scratching his head wondering why accidents have increased.
Since dropping my wired phone service, I let youmail handle my voicemail. It's possible to have a different outgoing message for each number calling you.
Calls with no callerID get a message saying that I don't accept such calls, and then youmail hangs up on them, not allowing them to leave a message. Any toll-free number or number I don't recognize goes to voicemail and they get a message asking them to leave all the details about their call and I'll get back to them. Numbers I know to be telemarketers aren't allowed to leave a message.
About the only unrecognized numbers I answer are the ones from within my own area code. They usually turn out to be wrong numbers or political surveys.
Just give me better battery life. My four year old Nokia that just croaked had great battery life. The Nokia that replaced it (less than a week ago) has horrible battery life. I have to recharge the thing every day!
Both phones are the same basic flip-phone design, not much difference at all. Guess I'll have to keep the charger with me all the time.
Great! Replace the roads and streets in the cities, and then watch UPS and FedEx deliver all those packages on foot. Not to mention the utility trucks that have to get around to repair the infrastructure in the cities. Or the larger trucks that deliver goods to businesses. Highways, roads, and streets are absolutely necessary to our way of life.
Ahh, ya doesn't has to call me Johnson! You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or you can call me Johnny or you can call me Sonny, or you can call me RayJay, or you can call me RJ... but ya doesn't hafta call me Johnson!
Don't forget that the Russians had some damned fine tanks. The T-34/76, and later the T-34/85, were more than a match for the average German tank. Yes, the German Tiger I and Tiger II were monsters on the battlefield, but they never had very many of them. The first Tigers used in Russia had no machine guns! Plus, the Germans learned that it takes a Tiger to tow a Tiger -- disable one of them and you take two of them out of the battle.
After the German invasion the Russians had no choice but to give ground and take casualties. After Stalingrad and the surrender of the 6th Army, the Russians really never looked back. Their armor kicked German armor's ass at Kursk. They still took many more casualties than they should have; that was Stalin's brutal influence.
After the war a German was quoted as saying the Russians were first class soldiers by the end of the war, but they were first class *fighters* from the beginning.
Normally when despots want to take over a country, they go after the opposition media first. They're finding it a bit harder in a country like the U.S. than they imagined.
Check out the specs on the new iPod touch 4G.
"It is essentially an iPhone 4, minus the phone and SMS functions. Jobs himself stated this in no uncertain words in his presentation."

and only a handful get it.
Hmmmmm.
You can have him as soon as he finishes all of his vacations. :)
Don't forget A&E becoming the law enforcement channel, and HGTV becoming the real estate channel.
Oh, you mean the "Technology Channel"! :)

I thought that everybody knew copper wire was invented by two lawyers arguing over a penny.
Or was that two politicians?
Amen!

Well, they do have a crescent moon as one of their symbols.
RE: my previous post
You folks wouldn't know humor if it bit you on the ass.
Maybe they're really looking for alien life, and Muslims are the closest they can find. Of course, they could just look in the freaking White House!
Their first choice was .cum, but they decided not to go with it.

Nearly all of them have dark hair - no blondes! :)
Duct tape + baling wire + a sledge hammer = my all-purpose repair kit. :)

>>>Go back and read the part about "participating vehicles".
Learn what "Give them an inch and they'll take a mile" means.
It always starts innocently enough, usually something that everybody can go along with, and then changes to something that nobody wants.

Oh, look! I can see November from my front porch!
I think she may be Kevin James' twin sister. :)
Separated at birth perhaps?
They're on their way! Unfortunately the strippers are all over 70, and the money is from an old Monopoly game. Have fun! :)
