The problem is that there are "Progressives" in BOTH parties. It's not about left/right or liberal/conservative or even Republican/Democrat. Nixon, both Bushes, Carter and Obama were/are Progressives.
Personally I believe that the government that governs best governs least.
The difference is: My wifi signal just barely reaches my neighbors' houses. It's password protected and I don't think my neighbors would even try to hack into it. It was never meant to be part of a national database.
Screw cigarettes and those fake e-cigs. I get my nicotine from snus. Real Swedish snus, not the candy-like snus made here in the U.S.. Much safer than American dip, too.
Ettan, General, Grov, Nick & Johnny, Skruf, Thunder and Roda Lacket!!!
What you and everyone else just can't seem to grasp is that it is the very "peer review process" that has been compromised. In climate science peer review has become nothing more than a circle jerk, so claiming something has been peer reviewed means diddly squat.
Until we can trust the process, climate science is just a bunch of claims and counter-claims. Of course, this new U.N. panel is a waste of time.
Worse than MS Word is PowerPoint. Teachers seem to be strangely attracted to it. I guess because it's at least one program they know how to use, and they can pretend to be computer experts.
Oh, yes, they were. You probably weren't even alive back in the 70s, but I was and I remember it very well. I was in college working on degrees in biology and chemistry.
Most scientists didn't take part in the madness back then the way they're doing this time, but some did. The key word used back then was "imminent". Bah! The public never knew who to believe anyway, just like now. Junk science then; junk science now. Not much real science going on in the climate business.
I let Windows inform me about updates, and I choose when to download them and install them. If nobody else has any problems after a week or so, then and only then will I download and install the updates. I learned a long time ago not to trust anything from Microsoft.
I'd like to thank all of you who beta tested the updates for me!
I heard Michael D. Griffin (former head of NASA) interviewed on the radio this morning, and he was very pessimistic about this budget. He hoped that Congress would make some changes and fund NASA the way it should be funded.
You have to remember that NASA's budget was cut severely during the Clinton administration, and was basically kept at the lower level of funding throughout the Bush administration.
Personally I don't see the private sector being able to do in the foreseeable future what NASA does now. We're talking about a VERY tiny part of the nation's overall budget, and government wastes more than that just about every day.
But when you're the ones making the rules(Congress, legislatures, etc.), the game is no longer a fair one. Because of so many laws and regulations (some obscure and petty), the common people need lawyers for nearly every aspect of their lives. So you have people making 5 or 20 or 30 bucks an hour paying for service at rates far, far higher than that.
Keeping score . . . . so what does the winner get, a trip to Hell?
I've had one for about three years now. I increased the memory and replaced the hard drive with a larger one, and it runs like a charm. It's been with me on dozens of road trips, been tossed into the back of my truck, endured heat and cold, and still keeps going. What a bargain for $500!

I was offended by the "greedy" bit, too. It certainly tells me where he's coming from.
Since when is wanting to make a profit and stay in business greedy? I guess HaymarketRiot works for a company that doesn't make money.

Obama has already mooned the whole country!

The dosage you offer may be too small. :p
For maximum efficacy she should contact me.
"My God, some of those women would require a machete and a fully stocked jungle expedition to find the treasure down below...."
;-)
Those were real women, not the whiny, wannabe little girls we have nowadays. Real men liked them the way they were; I know I still do.
Not flipped - changed.
The Republicans are about where the Democrats used to be, and the Democrats are almost totally Progressive (read: socialist).
But neither of them are what they were in the 1800s, and neither of them are what we need in Washington now.
Nah, but people do have to actually experience the policies of the DEMagoguing autoCRATS to become more conservative.
Take off in a Toyota!

Arrrgggghh!
>>I'm going to be really impressed when I'll be able to turn my 2D girlfriend to 3D!
:)
If you keep doing that, you'll need glasses anyway!

Who says I have only one computer?
I have four.
1. dual boots Ubuntu or XP
2. Windows 7 64-bit
3. Ubuntu only
4. XP only
My data is stored on multiple drives in multiple places; and backed up on CDs, DVDs, & online.
(I work for the Department of Redundancy Department.)
The real fun is when you fix your friends' and relatives' computers, and you look like a miracle worker in their eyes. "Wow! How'd you do that?" :)

I've always thought the most beautiful women in the world come from Iran, Pakistan, and India. And they're intelligent, too!
If we don't explore space, every other country on Earth will.

Lawyers want power. Money is just a means to that end.
The worst situation happens when they get elected.
All this time I thought slashdot had already been infiltrated by propagandists!

Sticks and stones ARE my bones!
Well, actually, a couple of my joints are titanium.
