Maybe EA, LucasArts, or TakeTwo would pay for them? Seriously, why aren't the big names in gaming spending any money on commercials about what crap it is that playing violent games makes you violent?
Seriously! At least Eminem makes a good point about the violence he spouts, it's just MUSIC, if your kids decide to go blow away their class mates, maybe you should look at yourself and not try to blame everyone else for your lack of parenting. My parents raised me to be responsible for my own actions and decisions.
You shouldn't categorize everyone who doesn't buy CD's as pirates. One of the reasons I don't buy CD's anymore is because I don't want the bother of converting them to MP3 for my iPod. It took me weeks to convert my collection of 400+ CD's so I could listen to them on my iPod. Now I just buy them online. It's much easier and more convenient.
Another reason I prefer purchasing online is the fact that I don't have to pay for all the songs on an album. I usually don't like between 30-50% of the songs on an album. Why should I pay to buy the songs that I don't really want to listen to?
He makes some good points, but he doesn't really say much other than take up arms. Unfortunately the very people he's making reference to don't read CNET or any other technology slanted publication. I would almost say boycotting is the best way. Organize a boycott of companies that don't meet with our ideals. I already do this with Microsoft, AT&T, and Time Warner cable. I will not give my money to this companies because I staunchly disagree with their business practices.
Wow it used to be that they would wait until you backed out to threaten you. Now they just threaten you out right! To funny. As a well armed geek I would love to see them try. But alas, I'm sure that someone will make this economically feasible for them, and they'll start pumping out more of these threats until they e-mail the wrong person, and maybe, just maybe they'll be the ones who get assassinated!
I concur with your wise statements. I believe that dells hardware quality has also decreased. I purchased an XPS and have had to send it in for service 5 times. The last time was to replace the MB, and a week later the replacement MB died also! Even their sales have gone to hell. I actually got called by someone to confirm an order that couldn't speak clear English. And folks, I work with people in India, Manila, and Argentina every day. I can understand them. I have heard two year olds speak better on the telephone than this guy could. I spent over two hours trying to get a PC ordered on my sisters "Dell Preferred" account and shipped to me so I could whip it and install fresh as Dell has become almost as bad as HP with installing useless crap on their systems. Long story short, I said screw it and ordered from HP.
Mr. Dell, you've got your work cut out for you as I'm not the only person out there that has had these issues with Dell. I don't believe the 80/20 rule applies to my customer experiences either. As many of us with Corporate accounts can attest to, the rate of component failure has increased to a phenomenal rate compared to the failure rate as recent as three years ago.
Or just ingest the "bomb" material before getting on the plane, puke it up in the lavatory, and then construct the bomb. I don't doubt that the stuff could be encased in a balloon or something else that will hold out against the stomach acid for a short period of time. I mean what's next? Mandatory puking before you get on a plane? I can see it now:
TSA officer: "Sir, before I can allow you to get on the plane you will need to make your self throw up into this container."
Customer: "No, I won't."
TSA officer: "Sir, either you puke or I'll make you throw up."
Customer: "No way!"
The TSA officer grabs his baton and begins to beat the customer's stomach until he throws up.
TSA officer: "Thank you for your cooperation, NEXT!"
I know this is worse case scenario, but is it really that unfathomable? I don't think so.
If we get to such a point, then haven't the terrorists won?
USASpec makes a great iPod control unit that works through your car stereo, and you can get them for about 100-150 bux. The units work with most Fords, GM's, Chryslers, BMW, etc, that have CD Changer controls. I had one in my SRT-4 before I totaled it and it was great! Clear as a bell, and you could choose to control the unit via playlists (the playlists are treated like CD's), or via the ipod, and you can still use your car stereo to skip tracks. No need to rush and get a new car;)
That was my first thought. I wonder if it could be used on bone? I happen to have a broken humorous (no pun intended) bone that would have taken a hell of a lot less time to heal, with less pain (2 screws and a pin later). You have to wonder if these scientists were Trekies? Nah they had to have been. Transporters next?
Let me re-phrase...A bill that is not designed to inhibit the evolution of the Internet. Requiring others to pay to use lines that are already paid is not the way to encourage the growth of the Internet. Business is business; however, the consumer should not be nailed twice for the use of their Internet service. Why would they get nailed twice? Because they would have to:
Pay for their Internet Service.
Pay a higher price for the products and services they would receive from the businesses that have to pay the extra $$$ to the ISP's for "better service". Such a trend could eventually lead to the ISP's denying service to companies unless they pay the line taxes. Thus, a small business would not be able to operate because they can't afford to pay x^10 ISP's their protection money...I mean "tax" so they can run their business.
They're comparing apples and oranges. Street Fighter is a totally different animal than WoW. WoW is a world in of itself, as are all MMORPG's. As far as getting better items with more time spent, well, you have to reap what you sow. You don't HAVE to do anything, if you want X you must do Y...
Well folks, I don't know about you but I think that VP Dick Chaney should practice with this instead of a real gun. A lot less "Accidents" would happpen.
Seriously folks, how stupid are people? I have to guess that it's the same people who have 1000+ instances of Spyware and install viruses, but come on folks! Use your head for something other than a hat rack!
I know...I had to vent...only the/. Community can understand:)
I believe that this could be an important step forward. I'm sure some of you have read The Truth Machine. Something of this sort coming to reality is both exciting and scary. Exciting because it would allow the innocent to be proven so, and the truly guilty (You know where the lawyer can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt, even though we all know that they're likely guilty) taken down. The scary thing is what about my little white lies that we all tell? My future wife asks, "Honey, what do you think of this?" You think it's hideous but you don't want to hurt her feelings...Pop quiz hot shot, what do you say? WHAT DO YOU SAY?
Man...Not only do we have to worry about little green men, and little grey men, but now we have to worry about the little Ice Men too...What's next?

One of the comical things is Broadcom has Linux drivers that they use internally and on their AP's. From what I understand, BC uses the same Chipset on their AP's and adapters. Many of those AP's run on Linux (I.E. Linksys WRT54G), thus they have the code. I am just curious whether or not BC is violating GPL by not supplying the code, since they have done the work.

I completely agree. Folks when you ask the "government" aka the people with the big guns to make decisions such as this, most people will not like the decision. If a state regulation were created, then it would not be as bad; however, when you ask the Federal government to make decisions like this, then you are asking them to take more control of legitimate state business. This kind of problem happens to people within the state that the computer ISP exist; therefore, the Fed should not regulate it.

Just to clarify by, "people he referenced," I meant the ones in public office and senior management.

Actually limited slip was added in the 04 model (which I have). Aditionaly, with stage 3 coilovers and new sway bars, you're set.
They are the great evil, a company that can't even included the coolest car on earth (SRT-4) in NFSU2 should be smitted by the game gods!!!
