Yes, I did care. I understand it's weird and counterintuitive, perhaps anti-social, to care about things, even something as stupid as someone buying a UID on ebay, but, well, it annoyed me and I did something about it. Better than just shrugging it off, I think. Anyway, BUYING a UID on ebay is apparently ok, but thinking it's idiotic and caring about it is, apparently "utter uselessness". To each his own I guess.
Oh no! A grammar criticism to completely dismantle my observation! Also, I do know the difference. Whomever is correct in the context I used it, whoever is not. Simple as that.
Suse professional is not an enterprise product. Suse Enterprise server (SLES) is. You used a workstation Linux expecting the reliability and support of an enterprise system. I pity whomever hires you.
Let me see if I got this straight. MacOSX is a good example of doing things right because it has build a series of non-Free things on top of a free kernel. When Linspire does the same thing (to a much lesser extent) you see it fit to point out the error of their ways? I think one of us is a bit confused...
If slashdot needs this kind of astroturfing to survive, might I suggest they hire competent editors who actually take the time to make up a passable fake submission?
Nokia and SE make both small-size phones and "large clumsy" phones (they call them smartphones btw). I own a Nokia 6680 and although heavier than other models it is hardly just a phone...
It's more like calling Scotland a part of the United Kingdom but whatever. Macedonians were dubbed "barbarians" by their enemies (that included the weakened Athenians) since it was an insult. Not because it was true.
Regarding the language, you must be talking of Ilyrians or Thracians.
With most TV capture cards, you wouldn't want to actually play the games through the capture card, since there is an added delay of around a second to a few seconds. For live TV this is not important, but that'd really mess with a gaming experience. But if you split the signal, play off of a TV, and route the spare signal through the capture card for recording, then you could do this.
Despite your authoritative tone, you are simply wrong.
There are many alternatives for oil. You don't use them because you don't want to. Nuclear energy could solve all of our energy needs but we, instead, choose to use a non-renewable energy source for our needs.
Your approach is, therefore, wrong. The problem is not that scientists do not invent useful things, but rather that the oil oligarchy creates the illusion that what science invents is superfluous.
That was, of course, the original "Final Solution". When it was calculated it would be too costly to ship millions of Jews to Madagaskar, the final solution as we know it came to pass.
This detail, and other small (deliberate) errors in style and substance in the article, make me think this article is a huge troll and Zonk (who else?) fell for it.

You, basically a nobody, are judging the richest person in the world (who, by the way, got there by not failing), calling him pathetic. His plans, by the way, have not failed. Microsoft are a big player in the console market and they have a solid business plan. The fact that they are losing money on this market is more than offset by the fact that, strategically, they have ensured their presence in one of the most important areas in the entertainment industry.
DAMN that was some exhaustive analysis there!
Soviet five-year plans were actually damn successful, for what it's worth.
Nokia's browser is based on Webcore. I use it on my E61 (a proper smartphone, by the way, with wifi and voip) and it is quite impressive.

...which is why you didn't stoop to buying a UID on ebay.
It is a well known fact that mfh has bought the slashdot id on ebay, and that is the reason he is on mine (and others') enemies list.
Regarding Konqueror, it's actually a great name. Consider this:
(Netscape) Navigator
(Microsoft) Explorer
(KDE) Konqueror
It's spelled PROBABLY. Yes you should be studying!

The hardware is accessible through an OpenGL interface so programming is largely hardware independent.

Predictably enough, I find Taco's comment laughable and patronising.
If it weren't for that last sentence, that is.

Do you have a "Get firefox or be raped" button on your site or is my browser rendering it incorrectly?
Firefox is GPL?! When did that happen?

I use Entourage every day and while it's a very nice email client, why someone would call it better than Outlook is beyond me.
This must be the most pedantic comment ever made and I say it with no hint of irony! Congratulations sir!
