  4. They are getting the hang of it on Iran May Shut Down Internet During Election · · Score: 4, Insightful

I remember listening to the Persian/Canadian blogger who at Wikimania 2005 (Frankfurt) talked about blogging, activism and internet censorship. He mentioned that the Iranian government was pretty lax compared to China and many others, and speculated that it might continue like that. However, they are really picking up speed now sadly. Probably because the iranian blogosphere was so hopeful and full of momentum in 2005.

I hate the bastards in power as much as the next guy, but to imagine that the democrats are less owned by big business than the republicans is self delusion on a grand scale.

    O_o

Since when is not the Bush administration known for being the 'big-corp-is-now-in-power' period? Through-and-through the bush administration and the upper parts of the republican party are supported by big corporations. The big republicans are playing in the game, too. Big business is in the white house more than it ever was -- why else would Blackwater stand untouched facing current criticism? Why else would we see an andministration that knowingly year after year plans for a budget deficit that is going to sink the country but make certain companies filthy rich?

Don't let the current Republican Administration make you think that it can't be any better any other way. Remember where this is coming from. Yes, this is power, power more corrupted than ever.

America is going to face a long and hard period after this where old debts will have to be repaid.

Um, that's the typical physical misunderstanding. A kilogram is a measure of mass, not weight. Thus we need this object as defining a kilogram comes from what an object is (mass), not what it seems to be (weight).

There is no such requirement. Many operating systems (Ubuntu, OS X, and probably everyone except .. ) bundle other lighter and nicer PDF viewers because they are nicer to the users.

Is it a question of time before a lightweight, free software pdf reader captures the windows userbase as well?

I was basically joking, because I think Dashboard is some bloated crap. With dashboard enabled, the OS gets more and more sluggish as you use it, and this forces you to do restarts just to clean out memory.. doesn't sound like the OS X 10.1 I used and liked. So I think that dashboard uses to much memory and the control of the widget cpu time is not good enough; if you don't study each widget separately, you miss that 50% of those you use use cpu all the time, and have to be disabled.

The swedish/scandinavian vowels å,ä/æ,ö/ø are in the qwerty at a horrible position: right pinky mid row, and in upper and mid row one column to the right of that! And these are vowels, not umlauts or accents!

Guess what happens if you load up Dvorak-Sv: the characters are still found in the same or a similar horrible position. Which makes dvorak pointess.
