    Yea, but this is Auburn Montgomery. Sounds like a community college...the Wikipedia article, edited by this professor no doubt, says it isn't even a branch of Auburn (just the board of trustees). So, not even University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) in Huntsville level of dignity.

    Yea, I actually like this idea for a white paper/thesis/dissertation. While, it doesn't seem reasonable for text (unless you could sign faster than type), it does for speech (esp. video conferencing).

    I was going to say, organizers of World Backup Day should move their date with it so close to April 1. But, I convinced myself it wasn't so bad ... since you could say a lot of viruses will wake up on April Fools. To counter that, most viruses you have to actually worry about today have money behind it .. so aren't pranks and the controllers probably don't release wake up dates. That, and backing up for reasons besides viruses (you know, like installing Grub 2 :) )

    Is that a subtle-subtle meta-April Fools comment? "Case closed on Jerusalem UFO" & "World Backup Day" were yesterday. So, yea, the latter. Organizers of World Backup Day may want to pick a different day ... unless there aim is to say a lot of viruses will wake up on April Fools. I could see that.

    But, it doesn't affect a lot of the "operations" of the site still. E.g. the way jumping to comment use to work (I realize it still works, I mean how the comments around the linked comment are handled) .. or more what I liked, you could rate pts yourself for Troll, Flamebait, Interesting, etc..

    My advice:

    Charity Navigator or something similar. Reward efficiency (i.e. high % of dollar goes to actual cause). Sometimes though if you're trying to support a certain cause, it's hard to find a charity that ranks high.

    How that measured response sneak onto slashdot? Also, if you Bieber and you could cash in, wouldn't you? It's not like he was in punk highschool band where he had to act like "I'll never sellout". (Do kids still even refer to "selling out"? It doesn't even seem possible TO sell out.)

    Against Bieber, this comment from his mom leaves a bad taste in my mouth:

    From reading your list, I can give another one:

    n. I became an adult with a kid to take care of so don't have time to try and find good music worth buying.

    Radio in the car sure as hell hasn't helped. It's has to be an active pursuit now. You can't hope to passively hear about good band outside of genres marketed towards: young kids ( 14 yrs) and people without computers or any monicrum of internet skill.

    I don't think I had but one Cyrix machine, and not for very long. Should have thrown in a Gateway reference :). Cthuga: people need to know the "inspiration" behind Winamp visualization.

    CoolEdit forever baby! (What, it's owned by Adobe now? You say, it's all corporate and they removed from the help file all the stuff about "brainwave synchronization". Binaural Auto-Pan? Bleh! No offense to the creators though, I would have taken the money too.)

    98 was out when I had a USB mouse; I just didn't have access to a copy ... being still in the time when all you needed was "a copy" unless it as something like Autocad (still have my parallel port with pass through dongle. You know, just in case).

    And other history books (the ones you have to use your own money to buy) mention that there were lots of reports coming in that strongly suggested an attack eminent. Not a false flag per se, but possibly an allowed action to elicit support where there was none. Personally, I believe the accepted account in this case: we expected attack, but we didn't know where. And that it was blessing in disguise as the fleet would have been decimated if they met at sea being out matched even fully manned (with recovery/rescue being nothing like in port). And, the attack inadvertently gave rise to carriers (... mother of invention and all that jazz. With a splash of monkey see, monkey do). The anti-air guns would have been nice though.

    Btw, bad guy leaders reading my stuff. I am a future commander in a resistance movement that is predicted to shake things up, but i am easily bribed with blackjack and hookers. You know what, forget the blackjack.

    I searched and searched on a good reference for the USB device (I can't remember my first very well, maybe a mouse). I saw a bunch of places (coping each other) say Apple Quicktake 100 connected by USB, but that seems incorrect. It was just regular serial (RS232). Anyways, if any people see this, tell me your first USB device (or if you know some of the first USB cameras). Thanks...
