This is especially true now, when large pharmaceutical companies pay them off!
In a country with extreamly f*ed up patent rights and a president who wants to ban stem-cell research, which could save millions of lives, what the hell do you expect?
My PM left last week, he said if I wanted to use his Linux box, that I could use the GUI. I told him I didn't know how to use the GUI and that I've only used it 10 times. He looked at me strangely.
You'd think after all of these years someone would learn how to spell the words "a lot".
There is no such thing as alot, the word is meaningless.
a lot on the other hand is quite useful: to a very great degree or extent; "we enjoyed ourselves very much"; "she was very much interested"; "this would help a great deal"
If you are really paranoid, couldn't you just run a cron job every few days, that if you don't stop would do this? You could probably just have it wipe your drive. Of course if you forgot, you'd be SOL.
Hey this invention sounds great for the US, we're already a use-it-throw-it-away country, let's keep on that track and see where it takes us.
Also, when looking at corporate names, I sometimes wonder if the people that started the company named it, because that's the coolest domain name they could get.
A friend's boss has a bunch of those things for his business. He also has a $1000 model for his boat. One day he compared the results. The $100 model was always up to 50 meters off. That was on open water.
Yeah, um Surfing lost it's luster after 1994. Pop-up ads galore, banner ads, crappy java apps, flash sites that look like ass, corporate bullshit. What do you want. I want the text only web back, where having an image that loaded over 56k in under 10 seconds was 'high-tech'.
just my 2
Although Network Solutions is owned by Versign they are not the same company. Network Solutions is the unethical company, which sent out the fraudent e-mail. Versign, their owner had no knowledge of this event (yes, i have inside information).
I used to work for a company called Broadwing, my co-workers named their servers after demons. The other departments would refuse to call the servers by their "real names".
Netscape 6 sucks, why would anyone use that POS. Download Mozilla it's the same with less bugs.. a lot of bugs.. but less.
Yesterday Mozilla was running at over 75% processor power. I have a dual processor system, so I guess the app needs 1.5 processors sometimes. Strange.. Photoshop never needs that much.
Consumers don't have any rights. A consumer will rarely win against a large company in court, unless the company settles, because it is too much of a hassle for them to deal with.
Look at the current situation in the US, all the laws are being made to help out.. Big Business. Within 10 - 20 years will will no longer be the United States of America, we will be the United Corporations of America.

Actually, they're going to get a CG'd Jim Carrey to play the CG'd Andy Kaufman.
Maybe the thrid one will be really good and the first two were actually elaborate pranks by Andy Kaufman.
Nah, your car would only slide about 20 poles and would be thrown over 7,000 picas in the air!
That's where the government sold them the alien technology to make the chip.
Would that lead to:
Dude man, this is some good fish.
Dude man, pass the fish.
Dude man, quit hogging the liver.

i'm using usenet right now, i've been using it since i first subscribed to an isp in 1995ish.
There will be a new ending too, with smart computers, which would wait for Neo to kill Smith, THEN wipe out Zion.
Worse boxed set ever!
Some quick figures based on the idiocy of working 60 hours per week and getting a bonus.
Let's say your salary is $60,000 per year.
52 weeks * 40 hours = 2080 hours per year.
$60,000/2080 = $29 per hour (aprox)
52 weeks * 60 hours = 3120 hours per year
$60,000/3120 = $19.25 per hour (aprox)
3120 hours * $29 per hour = $90,480
$90,480 - $60,000 = $30,480 lost yearly salary before bonus
5% average bonus * $60,000 = $3,000
$30,480 - $3,000 = $27,480 total lost salary
With these figures, you are clearly an idiot. If I was losing $27,480 per year I would have a new job, I'm not my boss's bitch.

The year that I am 'required' to purchase a Digital or HDTV will be the last year that I ever watch TV at my house. Fuck television, turn it off.

You're supposed to forget what happens on the simpsons, so each episode kinda seems like it blends into the one before.
