Since the republicans control congress, expect to see "child protection" legislation in the next year or so to give the FCC the power to regulate cable.
Remember that in November you have a chance to try and change that.
Actually in MOST civil cases if the defendant is found not guilty (not liable) then the loser usually is responsible for the winner's legal bill. That's why you hear of judgments being X amout of dollars PLUS legal fees. So if they lose they have to pay the RIAA's legal bill too.....
Ok...so now that everone has decided to quit their jobs and take a 1-hour a week part time job as a resturant reviewer, who pays all the $50K a year? The problem with this is that people who have harder jobs, jobs requiring more education, or jobs no one else wants to do SHOULD be paid more then then guy with a McJob who dropped out of high school. This plan is also what we like to refer to communisim....look how well that worked for the USSR.
The Shuttle's were NOT built in Flordia. Many of the components were (and still are) made in CA, although much of the assambly is done in FL. Also, if we are going to build a new state of the art ship, let's build a new hanger/repair bay to go with it!
It's was hidden pretty well most of the times, sometimes by using hand doubles, some times by fake fingers, and sometimes by camera angle. However there are some where it's clear. In "That Which Survives" when he's in the Tube with the magnetic probe it's clear. In "Cat's Paw" when he's holding the phaser it's pretty clear. In "Trouble with Tribbles" you get a good durring the lead up to the bar fight. Also it's clear in Star Trek 5, when Uhura brings dinner in the bags to the bridge and hands him one.
You, and the origianl parent, are using HEAT in the thermodynamic/engineering definition. I was using a physics definition. No wonder those two goups often get each other ver confused. Thank you for the clarification. I am an engineer, but I took many of those classes in the physics dept.
Ok, I'll also pick a nit them. heat by definition only exists when it's being transferred Bzzzztttt...wrong. We can say that at seconds after the big ban the whole universe had a temperature (a measure of heat) of X. Since the temperature at that time was uniform there was no heat transfer (just cooling due to the expansion of the universe). Heat does not NEED to transfer to exist, however it almost always DOES transfer due to the nature of heat.
I have orderd many things from Newegg and I have had them shipped to many different places. I have NEVER had a problem. There are some stores that DO make it hard, but Newegg is NOT one of them.
Yes there IS a "digital" base for all things (and your examples were good ones) HOWEVER there unless the digital technology you are using sufficiently advanced then the analog process might produce better results. For example for a long time digital cameras and printeres were not able to produce pictures as good as film/photo paper becasue the digital technology was unable to get the resolution as high. So for so applications analog is currently still better then digital (however that set is shrinking).
Remember that the f/2 is the minimum sampling rate to be able to caputer a signal, in most cases that will NOT provide all the spectral info needed. Think of a sign wave, if you hit it just right you would see a flat line with f/2 sampling. Often for GOOD reproduction you need to sample more then 2x withing the period of the wave, often times 10x is much better.
Very true. One interestiong thing of note, it seems that the info about what you burned on to CDs is not stored on the computer but on Apple's servers, so therortically apple knows exactly how many times you burned what track.....I wonder how they "share" that info with?
Nope it remembers the playlist and won't let you do it. However a friend of mine discovered that by added 1 (or more) 1/2 second empty tracks at the end of the disk will get it to let you burn 7 more.
Well you phrase it like this "2 8-character passwords or 1 64-character password?" Or it could be that software just requires 2 passwords and the user has not choice (think Windows 2000 or linux with strong passwords enforced where if you try "12345" it just refuses to let you use the password.
OR just take a hint from Cryptography and use 2 passwords, that get translated into numbers, and then used to generate another very large number through which is the actual password.
Many places are voting on more then just President. This year 435 Representatives and 34 Senators are also up for re-election.

Or even better, if we had a nation wide black out that lasted days (think North East last year). How would that effect people?
And since you can't moderate and post in the same thread you wasted those mod point.

Well he DID give you Drews in space.
"Funny, she doesn't look Drewish."

I'm getting old, I have better things to do then tweak or screw around with my OS.
So what do you run?
Why gentoo?
And yes I am serious. I have been debating Debian or Gentoo for a few weeks and I have yet to make up my mind.

Note the above post is based on the presumption that most new computers whill have more then one 16x PCI-Ex slot (PCI-Ex GFX slot).
Was that "non-profit group" the disney movie studios? They arn't making any profit.....:)

Airplanes don't flap their wings either....do they "fly"?

Yeah, but when looking at this is wasn't so much a "how can we do this" so much as a "how restrictive is it" experiment.

I wonder if his kid downloads music? Maybe we could get something GOOD from the RIAA for once!

No you cannot copyright the word "windows". However you can TRADEMARK it.
