Uh, Uncompressed DV footage is different than the compressed final output format. The bitrates you quote are mostly MPEG-2, and although great for DVDs/broadcasting, they are not so great for editing and adding affects as they are already compressed.
DV/miniDV has a bitrate of 25Mbps DVCPRo has a bitrate of 50Mbps HD DV (if you can find one) has a starting rate of 100mbps
Did you read the bottom part of the page you quoted? It said there was no way to fix the ATA password in Maximum security mode without knowing what it is.

Remember all Mac's had some version of a Apple OS installed when they were purchased. PC's on the other hand could have DOS, DOS and Windows, OS/2, and other OSes installed instead.
Apple wouldn't lose money posting those images because, to use them, you had to buy their hardware. On the other hand for OS/2, Windows and DOS you usually didn't have to buy anything else from Microsoft or IBM (and you could of bought the system with no OS).

This may be true long long ago, but at least from the Pentium Pro onwards, SMP x86 systems required the chip to be the same speed, same FSB and same cache size. The rumours that were flying around about the chips having to be from the same batch and same stepping were false during the past 7 years at least.
The Image of Mickey Mouse is still copyrighted in the USA! And due to the Berne Convention, other countries that have signed the agreement (such as Australia) have to obey other country's copyright laws when it comes to products from that country. So, yes copyright length in Australia is death + 50 years (or 75) but the USA's copyright laws are death + 90 years. As a result due to the Berne Convention, Mickey Mouse is not public domain to your country even though you have the shorter copyright period.
Hell, I've seen Norton Anti-Virus 2004 hose a network connection -- binding itself to the Network Drivers so DHCP won't work when you uninstall it unless you go hunting for a specific registry entry and delete it. Now thats quality...
Hence the "left unopened" statement the parent poster used.. It's hard to put a new document inside a sealed envelope (and if you did that would void the purpose).
Looking back at previous years, particularly 1998-1999's Worst you come across #5 which is Spin City, which states:
" The dialogue in this 9:00 series would seem more appropriate in a brothel than in New York's City Hall, where much of the action takes place. Crass and vulgar language abound, while casual sex and the homosexual lifestyle (one character is an openly homosexual male) are enthusiastically condoned while providing fodder for jokes.".
Also noted is how they did the same thing regarding homosexuality with Will & Grace (which was #2) in 1998-1999.
They're even against cross dressing, by looking at their synopsis of The Drew Carey Show for that year (otherwise they wouldn't of mentioned his brother):
" This series about a dissatisfied department store middle manager and his buddies continue to play irresponsible drunkenness, foul language, and lascivious sexual behavior for laughs. Masturbation is a favorite topic. Carey's transvestite brother has made frequent appearances this season - and has become sexually involved with Mimi, one of Drew's co-workers."
Absolutely disgusting that such an intolerant organization is there to "better the public and children".
Norton can be updated for free last time I tried. As I seem to understand, you just have to disable the Symantec/Norton Services, reboot, download definitions manually from Symantec, install, and the re-enable services. I remember doing this to help a friend that said their "liveupdate subscription cancelled", and they were kinda annoyed that they were paying for freely downloadable updates
The nforce2 IGP had limitations. Most of the integrated graphic cards could not run when the FSB was 400mhz, either causing malfunctions or dead mainboards. I can't remember if they rectified the issue though.
Except most screens on display at large stores is just one computer split out 5x to 5 different unadjusted displays. So you'll see ghosting due to signal splitting (or poor breakout box), different resolutions (1024x768 on the 17 inchers looks a bit out of place), etc.
Except it's a fair bit of people that cannot control spending and credit card companies and the like feed off that by offering them credit cards with hidden fees or insane interest. They actually go after these invididuals because they can make more than twice the money they've loaned the person quite easily, due to their inability to be responsible with money. It's like giving a cookie jar to a young child and say "Just take one". Of course they're gonna eat more than just one.
Judges in the court system here have ruled that in fact the creditors are at fault for lending money and giving cards to people who have a so-so credit rating. This is why creditors will only take them to court as a very last resort, because they know chances are pretty good that the case will be thrown out or worse, the creditors are at fault.
Caller ID use is getting lame and it is the phone company's fault.
Here in Canada for land service Caller ID is $5-6 dollars/month. And for what? Most calls we've been recieving has their ID blocked as Private or Unknown number (telemarketters, surveyors, cell phone users, etc). Bell even offers the touch tone service of blocking caller display (*67) for free. Why bother paying the $60/72 a year if it's not going to be useful for most calls nowadays?
If the product would break within a year... why would a customer buy it then? Wouldn't they look for something higher quality (I'm not saying it would break, but the mention of it would scare some customers).
Likewise, I think of Future Shop when Homer makes that comment.
I was screwed by Future Shop with my first laptop, a P133. The guy gave me the same story, if they don't make the laptop anymore, they'll replace it with a similar model, so I dropped money for the warranty (it was 1998, I was still new to buying hardware). The laptop kept overheating until one day the hinges fused together, making it impossible to open it without breaking the hinges.
I took it back, and they kept aruging it was "Physical defect not covered under warranty". I tried to explain to both the technician and the manager that heat can fuse materials together, causing the hinge to break (or it could of been lack of lubricant). The manager broken down enough to take it in. He called a week later (in his broken english) to say he had someone look at it and it was overheating, however they would not fix the hinge issue or replace it. He kept saying they would not cover the hinges, like a broken record, almost as if he felt guilty... When I picked up the laptop the hinges were broken but it didn't overheat, and they didn't even fix it, they had a local computer shop take a look. I was disappointed and I now have this laptop in a bag in the corner of my room collecting dust (there's lots that could be done if the screen was able stand up).
Hell, I download the cracked versions because it's more convienent to patch all those games with cracked EXE's than it is to find the CD every time I want to play a game (especially since they tend to drop their entire contents to the drive in the install now).
The cool thing with most of id Software's releases is that after the game has matured enough and made them enough money( 2 years or so), their final patches for such games often remove the CD Check. I wish most other gaming companies did the same...
It's just like Christmas! Eagerly awaiting for Christmas Day (or Eve) so you can open your presents, even though they've been sitting in front of the tree for a week. It's the anticipation that almost gives it a nostalgic feel.
I agree. I've always wanted a larger land map, or presents/buildings like in Simcity for the SuperNES, etc. However since EA owns Maxis now, we'll probably never see that.
The Microsoft+IBM OS/2 alliance stopped around 1992 ( see http://groups.google.ca/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8& selm=3790A700.1E571603%40isomedia.com ). By this time Windows 3.0 matured and Windows 3.1 was almost ready for release. When the split happened, MS used some of the code in Windows NT. Long story short, there is an amount of shared source from the partnership being used today, although I'm sure alot of it has been refined since.
Oddly enough I was talking to a friend about this last night at dinner.
It blows random particles off and from inside your clothing onto a tray. This tray is then analyzed by a machine to see if theres any dangerous particles (such as major elements to create explosives/bombs). If its detected they then search to see if you are carrying any explosives or what not.
There are several open source versions of Doom you can use, I believe Boom was the one closest to the original EXE (But I may be wrong).
Legacy Doom has some good, but not perfect, compatibility with older wads. And theres of course the jDoom/Doomsday Engine, which has made the original Doom a great experience.

Transgaming is a Canadian-based company so the DMCA, although not totally immune to them, does not apply to them directly.
As far as I know, the Pentium 60 and 66s were one of the hotter Pentium chips, running at 5 volts instead of 3.3 for 75-200 MHz Pentium.
