Actually, the chip is not from the arm. They are two seperate things: chip (from somewhere, head?, body?) and arm (from arm).
T3: silly idea to make a few quick bucks. T2 closed all holes. Nothing is inevitable, except death. I like Arnold, but have no interest in seeing this flick.
I agree. Highlander (the original movie) was MUCH better than anything that followed (TV and movies). The first movie (and there were 4, not 3, so far) pretty much wrapped up the story. The only way to continue logically was to follow the lead character AFTER he achieved the prize. They chose to totally ignore that FACT and change the story, hence the suckiness. Now, on to T3...
I prefer T2 to T1, slightly, and don't have any desire to watch T3, as to me it makes no sense based on the ending to T2. At least with T1, they left the door open for a sequel. With T2, they slammed the door and then melted it.
I'm self-employed, so this is something I don't understand. Would over-time be that stuff I work instead of getting sleep (or having a life) most days? For NO additional pay! The sun must shine out your asses, you lucky dogs!;^)
Actually, they would get up to the speed of their service. My cable is "up to" 3 Mbps. I get that, and sometimes between 3.2 and 3.5. So my network feeds me whatever the cable modem is running it. Someone with DSL, which is usually slower, won't hit 2 Mbps surfing. Surely you misspoke... as the network won't speed up the DSL (or cable) connection, right?
If you are going to call one spade a spade, then let us play nice and call ALL spades spades! No offense to any black folks reading this. And no, I'm not going to use the PC phrase.
I am learning the play BETTER Texas Hold'em Poker and so I got a few books from the library. In one of them there is also a section on Slot machines and I glanced at it. It states that since most of the new machines use computer chips now, the outcome is determined before the lever is pulled (or button pushed). Let me look... okay here it is:
"The old term for slot machines, 'one-armed bandits,' so named because the reels were activated by the slots handle on the side of the machine, is no longer appropriate. For one, most players don't even use the handles anymore -- that is, if the machine even has a handle! A simple press of the button gets everything going.
For another, where the reels will stop is not a mechanical function, as before, but is calculated by computer chips using random number generators. The function of the mechanical device that spins the reels now is only to display the result calculated by the computer, not to deterime it."

One of my favorite Woz quotes, aside from saying he was going to kill the man who invented Defender because of some kind of game bug (and I have that on tape), was a comment he made to my phreak group about Mr. Jobs on a conference call Mr. Jobs. He quoted Jobs as saying, "Eew, (as in yuck) analog!" Tech savvy? Whatver you say pal.:^) But give the guy credit. Jobs was VERY skilled at refining ideas and marketing products to people who didn't even know they needed something (like the home computer). He convinced me!
They played to their strengths, and each did what he did best. For Woz (who I knew) it was inventing and for Jobs (who I never knew) it was marketing and refining ideas. They were each in the right place, at the right time, with the right partner to succeed. It was truly a golden era.
Those are great! I also enjoyed Rescue Raiders, which was like Choplifter on steroids. Too many others to mention. I'm lucky, as I still own my original Apple II+, and over 40 other video game and computer systems.:^)
WOW! 1 inch. I saw a web site once where someone built a computer into a lunch box, and he used a notebook computer HD (of course, the motherboard he used probably wouldn't fit into anything smaller).
I am writing a word for word adaptation of The Bible. I think it will be a big hit!
Seriously, why not come up with their own story and film that (ala that Star Trek Exeter thingy). While interesting, this seems like a (near) complete waste of time. M. Night Shyamalan keeps including the films he made as a teenager on the DVD releases of his movies. They are usually crap, but look where he is today (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs). Oh well, everyone had to start somewhere!:^)
I agree. I read the headline, and was sweating the 40GB Maxtor I just put into my brother's system (not the mention the one I was about to buy for myself), then I clicked to the article and, well, this isn't that bad or big of a deal. It seems isolated, and they know about it, and they are taking steps to correct the problems.
I always bought Maxtor, but when I built my last system I needed a HD the day the last parts arrived, and the best price per GB (not always a good measure) was a WD 80GB. That thing rattled and clicked and finally when I saw a Maxtor 80GB on sale a few months later I grabbed it and copied over to it. I now leave the WD in the case and attach the power and IDE occasionally to back up my Maxtor. For that it seems to work okay. This news story seems to be confined to a small number of drives, from three companies. I've always found Maxtor drives to be reliable. I will personally stick with those, and recommend them to family and friends.
for this obvious left-leaner. What did you do with the notebook's case? I think it is great that he saved a computer from being dumped, and someone will get some use out of it, but since it now resides in a Lego case, he did SOMETHING with the original case... And no, this is not flamebait, I really want to know! The old case is somewhere.
Right! Even the computer screen images in 2001
are ANIMATED! Pretty slick...
Well, you've convinced me. This is all WAY too
confusing, so I'm burning my Terminator DVD's...
Hey, if I melt them instead, will this thread go away?

Seriously, are you saying that no matter WHAT
happens, when, where and involving whomever,
Skynet is inevitable? Really? That is silly...

it won't mean anything when California sinks into
