Fark is just slashdot with boobies... plus it's usually a day or two ahead of slashdot... I swear I saw that nicoteen free cigarette story on fark a few days ago...
Speech recognition for commands is far different than speech recognition of this nature. It's not difficult to differentiate "print" from open, close, next, etc... The difficulty is in differentiating "two" from "too" and "to" or "smile" from "mile" or "small" (the examples go on and on...)
Kinda like the code name 'Sagan' that Apple used, that got the hemphead astronomer into a tiff not that long ago.
Part of the tiff though was due not just to the use of his name, but because of the OTHER PowerPC code names being used, namely Cold Fusion and PDM (Piltdown Man) -- All hoaxes.
We installed two labs full of LCDs about a year ago and have had no noticable problems with dead pixels (the mice, keyboard, and keyboard trays don't fair as well.. kids get board in class..). My own LCDs have gone through a fair bit of moving, and I just had a buddy move a pair, all monitors in questions came through unscathed. I'm sure the LCDs are more fragile that a good CRT, but just play nice with your toys and you should be fine.
Never been to Montana myself, however try Nebraska if you like miles and miles of nothing in any direction. A buddy of mine and I made a trip all over the west a few years ago, 14 state and a little over 4,000 miles in 5 days (god bless the college road trip). Just to let you know, the only town (we found) in the United States with absolutely no road signs (not even one) -- Farmington, NM. Odd little town it is.... By the grace of god we made it out of there.
OK, I'll RTFA, I'll RTFM, hell, I'll even RTFISRP (In Soviet Russia Posts), but I am drawing the line at reading the Patent Application. I mean, geez, cut a guy some slack...
My advice: Skip the "High speed internet access" at the MGM Grand in Vegas: $10 a night for WebTV. F'in wonderful... We cancled after the first day and settled for dial up.
Try driving, completely sober, through a college town at 2:00 AM Friday morning. I can't count the number of times I have been pulled over for "running a stop sign" or "speeding" just to have a cop stick his nose 3 inches from my face, get a disappointed look on his face and let me go.
It seems there are several problems here, First in my mind is some of these would be impossible for my color blind friends to pull off. Also, with the level of distortion, some were hard for even a person with reasonable sight to get. Finally, this just sucks and is a pain in the arse.
Why not use something simplier, easier, and less resource intensive such as:
1) What is 2 + 4?
2) What is seven minus four?
3) What year is it?
4) How many days are in January?
5) How many hours are in a day?
I mean, I could come up with these all day... I'm sure bots wouldn't be able to read a question, interpret it, and post the correct answer, but hey, correct me if I'm wrong.

2. Datamine CC numbers off old drives
3. ???
4. Profit!
Wait a second, I just found the missing step...
Sweet.
"If you're interested, I came second..."
Wait a second... Maybe this game is up my ally...

From http://www.mdt.state.mt.us/speed_limit:
Starting May 28, 1999, Montana has a posted speed limit - just like every other state.
Haven't been through Montana lately eh?
Other than that, I agree with you.
Shame on you coolgeek, how could you forget clippy! Or Microsoft BOB? Geez, all the technological advances you seem to have overlooked....
Wow, must really suck to be the poor sap stuck with room 101!

So why would you get your six year old daughter the email address SexyRapeLover@localISP.com?
That's just asking for trouble!

I feel certain the slashdot crowd will be pretty easy to find...
Welcome to .NET!

Dude, sick.
</terrible terrible pun>
But in Soviet Russia, the Meteors study YOU!
No no no! You've got it all wrong, it's the fans that make it fast!
In case y'all haven't read the news...

Cool. Next E-book decoder I make will also incorporate an E-mail client, search engine, minesweeper, and a cook book!
This coming from a guy whose username is "Scotch". Sounds like an addict to me!
