I doubt they put much expenditure into this - how much could it possibly cost to put an entry in making the root servers return sitefinder for unresolved queries. Then a big ass webserver for sitefinder. - i doubt they will have binding contracts as they must have known they would get trouble...
NOT - If we get M$ on side for this battle we could get verisign to change their mind. After all , all non resolved names would go to MSN search before wouldnt they - hmm i wonder if M$ has lost lots of hits to MSN search which they are not too happy about......
...oh, apart from those thousands of mobile phones bleeping out "SMS" daily to owners who have no idea what it means... [ Reply to This ] i love that little cookie nokia put in their phones;-)
I also find it quite amusing that the biggest software pirates I know are not merely Windows users, but anti-open source, Windows advocates. I have seen a little of this kind of thing myself "If its not windows its automatically classed as Shit" by people.... A lot of people in my school were not pleased at the start of this term to come back to a linux ltsp setup....
as another poster has replied to you copyright violation is different to theft, i know i wouldnt go into a store and steal a cd, downloading mp3's though is a different matter
You then lose a lot of the perceived 'value' that a real cd has over a copy. Since you dont get the cover art and its essentially just a cd-r - so why not just burn it from your friends house....
my thinking now. I would love a gamecube just to play metroid prime and my computers dvd drive broke a few months back...... if the cube had dvd playback i would have one sitting on my desk now. As it happens i dont, i may buy one when they come up second hand for 40 or less (ie just to add to my console collection) I wouldnt buy an xbox beacuse you have to buy the dvd kit -Screw you Megashaft. p2s would be nice but there really arnt any games on it i would enjoy that much.
Im sure its incredably difficult to do that when you have a hundred or so machines. Plus in the article it says some of the unlicenced computers were hand me downs - which is unfair to make people re license anyway
I know people who were baught Ps2's beacuse they wanted a games console and they wanted a dvd player for the family - i would imagine thats a significant number of people. Also nintendo will lose out of the multiplayer gig beacuse Mr Myamoto doesent like it- nintendo may be heading the way of sega....

annoyingly with redhat you have to do a lot of work to get rid of bluecurve :-(
It was in the sunday times too.
It only saturated the pipe beacuse they were working at 1 second retry intervals if the server was unavailable.
