    I doubt they put much expenditure into this - how much could it possibly cost to put an entry in making the root servers return sitefinder for unresolved queries. Then a big ass webserver for sitefinder. - i doubt they will have binding contracts as they must have known they would get trouble...

    NOT - If we get M$ on side for this battle we could get verisign to change their mind. After all , all non resolved names would go to MSN search before wouldnt they - hmm i wonder if M$ has lost lots of hits to MSN search which they are not too happy about......

    I also find it quite amusing that the biggest software pirates I know are not merely Windows users, but anti-open source, Windows advocates.
    I have seen a little of this kind of thing myself "If its not windows its automatically classed as Shit" by people....
    A lot of people in my school were not pleased at the start of this term to come back to a linux ltsp setup....

    as another poster has replied to you copyright violation is different to theft, i know i wouldnt go into a store and steal a cd, downloading mp3's though is a different matter

    You then lose a lot of the perceived 'value' that a real cd has over a copy. Since you dont get the cover art and its essentially just a cd-r - so why not just burn it from your friends house....

    It only saturated the pipe beacuse they were working at 1 second retry intervals if the server was unavailable.

    my thinking now. I would love a gamecube just to play metroid prime and my computers dvd drive broke a few months back...... if the cube had dvd playback i would have one sitting on my desk now. As it happens i dont, i may buy one when they come up second hand for 40 or less (ie just to add to my console collection) I wouldnt buy an xbox beacuse you have to buy the dvd kit -Screw you Megashaft. p2s would be nice but there really arnt any games on it i would enjoy that much.

    Im sure its incredably difficult to do that when you have a hundred or so machines. Plus in the article it says some of the unlicenced computers were hand me downs - which is unfair to make people re license anyway

    I know people who were baught Ps2's beacuse they wanted a games console and they wanted a dvd player for the family - i would imagine thats a significant number of people. Also nintendo will lose out of the multiplayer gig beacuse Mr Myamoto doesent like it- nintendo may be heading the way of sega....
