So you want to penalize people for being able to play more than you? Or to subsidize your bill? Maybe you should stick to single player games.. For 15$ a month this is a pretty good bargin since your granted unlimited playtime.

I remember a number of years back when UO came out.. I said to friends that i'd never play a game that had a monthly fee... I was shocked when I heard about it. But realistically these games provide alot of fun factor for the price of a movie admission and I get alot more enjoyment out of it.

  2. WoW is good but on Review: World of Warcraft · · Score: 3, Interesting
I've played quite a few MMORPGS since my first (Asheron's Call) and I must say WoW has captured my attention... There are lots of nifty little things in there that keep it interesting.

My biggest complaint, not just with WoW but most new MMORPGS, is that it requires minimal skill to play. You either fight at your level or you get slaughtered. You can't run into a mob 5 levels above you (solo) and survive easily (by running away).. The reason why this doesn't bother me as much in WoW is that you get most of your experience from quests.. There is so much content for a game just released that you don't notice some of these issues. I also find that its difficult to powerlevel in WoW because of the way mobs spawn and there doesn't seem to be a bonus with grouping. ie, I can probably gain more xp running around the wild solo than in a group.

On that note, you can solo alot of this game besides the scattered quest. And it appears to be relatively easy to find a group working on the same one.

Back to skill tho, the thing I liked about AC that I haven't seen in MMORPGS since was that you could put yourself into seemingly impossible situations and surivive. Sometimes you'd gamble and die repeatedly but there would be times that you would survive by the skin of your teeth. I can't count how many times i've recalled out with 1hp left keeping the mobs busy so my friends could escape. Unfortunately i'm a geek and can't properly describe the feelings you experience but I haven't felt the same in other mmorpgs. They are too dumbed down.

In AC you knew the levels and some info on the mob (depending on your skills) but that didn't mean much. You could go against a mob 20 levels above you and easily wipe the floor with it, while another mob around your level would kick your butt. None of this color coded mob crap. You had to know the mobs weaknesses to attacks.. Some were nearly invulnerable to certain types. You had to prep for your adventures.. If you knew you were going to run into mob x, y and z you'd prep different than mob a, b and c. While in other mmorpgs it doesn't seem to matter.

Maybe AC was too arcade like... You could play it safe but if you wanted to push the edge the fun factor was amazing. Maybe this style of game didn't do well because it required a slight twitch factor. Maybe it was bad timing or MS's lack of marketing (did they have any?)

But back to WoW, it is the first MMORPG i've played in 3 years that I have really enjoyed. It doesn't feel like a level grind like most of them. Even tho the quests are the same type, collection, delivery, they do toss in the scattered twist which keeps you on your toes. I personaly give it a 9/10 and forsee myself playing this for awhile.

Now that we have the space station NASA shouldn't be worried about having to have a shuttle as big as it is. Alot of the stuff they used to do (ie experiments) could be transfered to the space station.

It appears to me that the Russians are used to working on a budget and design stuff to get the job done effectively. They may not be able to do all the things that NASA would like to do but are they necessary? Is that little bit extra worth 10x the cost?

One nice thing about the shuttle was you could do space walks to repair satelites,etc... You wouldn't be able to do that with Russia's model (even tho you can detach for upto 15 days) but i'm sure instead of a cargo bay you can design one that can handle those types of requirements.

Anyways, its nice to see at least one Country looking forward and it looks like they hit the nail on the head.

I really sympathize with him... I've been having a pain in my right side for over a year now. I've seen 2 doctors and a specialist and they still aren't 100% sure what the problem is. I've had 3-4 xrays, a bone scan, at least 2 ultrasounds, a scope and the pain is still there. What I have found is that its very hard to find a compedent doctor.

My pain is sporadic, its more annoying than painfull, i'd say maybe a 3/10. But after awhile you start to get tired of constantly feeling pain. My only choice, like him, is to keep seeing doctors and research on my own to toss out possible causes/solutions because they sure as hell don't have any ideas or aren't burning the midnight oil trying to find out whats going on.

I'm sure my doctors dread seeing me coming and thing i'm a hypochondriac (maybe I am, maybe its stress?) or something but what am I supposed to do? Ignore it and hope it goes away? Personally I don't care how annoyed people get with me, cracking jokes like i'm falling apart, etc. I want to be around to see my kids grow up.

2 things to note, if your not a citizen you will have to pay for treatment. And if they refer you to a specialist I hope your sticking around for 4-6 months because thats how long it takes to get an appointment up here.

Same up here in Canada, unless you grew up in a major centre chances are you moved for work. The majorty of people I went to school with are either spread across Canada and into the states. Not by choice, i'm sure alot of them would rather live closer at home.. At least 90% of the people that I know up here would like to move back.

You don't need a national holiday to be with your family but as I said before if you live in another part of the country its great opportunity to get back for a visit. The idea behind Thanksgiving is why so many people travel for that holiday... Maybe it means nothing to you...

The further you live from Family the less you see them.. IM, emailing or talking on the phone isn't the same as being there with them. You miss out on ALOT of stuff.. If you don't agree with that then you don't have a sense of family or you haven't live away from them long enough to realize.

I've lived away from home for 7 years now.. and I miss it more and more each day... I've missed so much i'm afraid i'm going to regret it down the road.. i'm already starting to regret it now.
