Between the cost of gaming these days (prohibitive on the PC unless you have a new computer, outragious on the systems) and the sheer lack of anything decent new or inovating unless its by Nintendo out there. The writing was on the wall for another Video Game Crash.
and even with everything turned up and running a Dynamis Xacrabard (where there tends to be a huge number of monsters at once along with 50-64 player characters) I didnt have one instance of a slow down or a lag which even some of my friends with nice systems couldnt brag about.
Of course its a older game, but its much more prossesor heavy than you would think based on how SE botched up the coding for PC.
dude, you know you can buy OSX and NOT buy a computer... you know thats like 70% of their sales right?
Apples biggest problem when trying to figure out their market share is that Apple computers for the most part can last 4-5 years with minimum upgrades, while PCs are done in 2 years and are replaced.
you got be kidding yourself if you think Linux is even close to Windows in usability... Linux is 10-15 years behind Apple in a stable OS. Its dead for all except people who like to tinker with things just to get them running.
your missing the point, they HATE windows, they have used OSX and see how much better Macs OS is to windows, or even Linux. The problem being, use 2 computers, one for buisness one for gamming? Or buy one computer where you can switch between both.
This gives you the games of the PC world, with the superior software, and OS of the Mac world (since quite frankly everything is written better for the Mac because bad code is punished, unlike the PC world)
and I see the other side, my entire office staff who's into gaming want Macs cause they like how they run in OS X but wont buy one cause they dont want to have two computers. 2 of them are now buying MacBooks after seeing how well Battlefield 2 ran on it yesterday.
yes I have seen the movie, and while she doesnt have a huge speaking part, she has a bigger one than say 70% of the gang, and to have what is one of the most beloved characters speaking in a flat monotone voice like they dont really give a shit, its a paycheck is a problem.
She's horrendous in Kingdom Hearts II. I can only hope that she shows a inkling of emotion in AC because if its just as bad as KHII she's going to ruin the whole movie.
the internet is about free information. its not imposing our morality, its imposing the whole purpose of the project decades ago, one the european nations had no problems with before they where even the EU. This was a academic exersize in freedom and its been succesfull, but as is evident by a lot of EU and Asian nations the idea of freedom is a very scary one cause it means informed people.
This is simply a power play by the EU to try to prove to the world its not a useless bureacratic organization made up of rich fools who think they know better. Its going to be yet another losing battle and show its own people why there is even more reason to just bow out of the whole thing. As it is they cant even agree on a damn constitution and they want to control a peice of major worldwide infastructure? I think not.
its article flamebait. The groups had almost no say (though they did speak against it) Who was more against it was other countrys like China and Russia. The EU picked up the whole "Christan Fundi" thing so that it could have a better footing in opposing US control, since the whole argument is lost when you find out that it was other countrys who oposed it along with the US.
The fact remains though that the EU should continue to have no say. They dont fund it, they never created it (at least how it is today, though England Universitys did help in some early tests) and they have shown in the past that there is no way the EU could get its head on straight enough to even run things half as well as the US has (they already admitted that they would allow countrys to limit control by their own people, exactly what they accuse the US of being capable of). If they want their own network thats fine, but I could garentee that their own people would revolt when they flicked off the switch to the rest of the world who would stay with the EU
Funny I had Tiger running on a iMac G3 500 mhz (256 megs) and its completly useable, sure you cant run photoshop but you can generally run light games office, etc. Also the "stats" you quoted are full install ones, OS X can run fine with 128 meg and can be trimmed right down to 1 gig if you remove all the language and localization crap along with 99% of the print drivers you will never ever use.
Now I ALSO had a Compaq 600 mhz with 128 megs (that I bumped to 256 megs) and it was a snail, took ages to load and crashed at everything, eventually we just replaced it with a HP (wasnt mine, was my girlfriends father and I pursuaded him to buy a new machine already)
So I am more incline to think that the Apples will run better with slower machines than the PCs, but neither is in any way fast.
As for complex, even though BSD looks scary, its infinatly less complex that that jumbled mess of Windows code out there that even if they where to release is Im sure it would take years to even understand what the hell they where trying to do on some of the stuff.
1. Wait for Apple to do it first
2. Take 4 years to copy what Apple did in the prosses promicing everything + a new shiney toaster then take it away so your left with the old OS + some nice pictures
3. Say everything Apple did (now 6 years ago) will be in the next version and have people still eat it up
4. ?????????
5. Profit
except that Saturn was a GM company from the begining they just purposely left off the GM brand as a experiment in a different approach to car making.
while the cars a lot more standardized now, I would not say they lost the quality. I owned a Saturn from the original SL2 to the later gen SL2 and my parents own the Ion. While Saturn did lose some of its individuality, its a much less expensive car to build and support than it once was. And they run a lot better than my SL did. Lets not forget, the Cobalt is also the same platform as the Ion and both have done a lot to help GM in boosting sales. Of course if GM would get their colective heads out of their ass about people dont want big SUVs anymore, maybe they wouldnt be in the red when those tanks dont sell.
He means Office:Mac Intel edition. Currently your running it in rossetta when your running it on a Mac.
PErsonally doesnt matter much to me I am now running Pages for major text editing and textedit for light stuff since I dont actually use excel.
Office IMHO is just to overtly bulky
Who said this was ticking us off...
Most of us WANT to run windows on our Intel macs simply so we can use what by all standards is a much superior operating system, but still run products made by companys who cant get their head out of their asses and make OS X builds.
Same thing Linux users have been doing for ages.
Sept going by this definition many of the things that the term "robot" was given in the 1920's-1930's or even before the term was even coined would not infact be considered robots, when most scholars do indeed consider them that.
Thus this definition is far too narrow, especially when even today many of our robots are still human controlled for various reasons. The American Heritage one wins I have to say.
doesnt matter. This is a problem across the board about DRM, just because Apple happens to use it on iTunes files in no way means this should be in the Apple slashdot section as they arnt the only ones who use it (and worse it makes it out to be Apple DRM reduces battery life by 25%... no TFA clearly shows that Apples only reduces it by 7%.
Hell it shouldnt even be in the Microsoft section... this is if anything a hardware story since its about the power consumption.
Mog safes where like a fraction of the important info there. The whole thing was a first preview of sorts of the brand new expantion, the new areas and quests its adding (like Assault) and the three new jobs they are adding (Puppetmaster, Blue Mage, and Corsair) as well as a first time announcement of the addition of Chocobo raising and racing in game.
The job adjustments while good and bad (as well as not finalized) was just a small fraction of the plans for the future.
Exactly. If you feel that its not right your money is being spent now paying off the stupidity of your lawmakers, then maybe YOU should do something about it and not elect idiots in the first place.
Look it how much people disliked Bush after the first election, once the dust settled... He ran on this platform of things are getting better even when common sense told everyone no they wheren't and what happened? He won and things are worse.
I would bet you 100 bucks if he where to run tomorrow enough people would STILL elect him President despite that fact. There is a very good reason the US doesnt have a true democracy, and its because give a mob the choice to pick someone and they will always go with thier heart over their common sense.
The sad thing is even with your state having to pay out for its stupidity, they will spin this as the evils of the company and get more of you poor suckers to vote them in next election.
I worked for the postal service for a summer and I can tell you they have machines that will do EVERYTHING.
While they didn't open letters up, they could scan handwriting like a champ, only kicking back if its really poorly written or seriously damaged. Its not far fetched to think that these places would use machines that would scan a app scantron style to make sure the right checks are crossed out and scan in your signature as having been signed then file it.
Look at how often these apps require little more than filling in a box and signing your name, they barely ever make you fill out anything having it all filled out for you. And they all are standard size envelopes, so they could force the app to sit at the bottom, run it through a cutter at the top and force air in to loosen it up and slid out the app easily.
Suggesting that stealing actual money is on the same par as selling gold in games is - well - ludicrous.
Are you paying 12-15 dollars a month to play a game?
Don't you think being unable to progress in a game not because the game is hard, but because a outside entity has decided to make it so that you cant progress in the game without either working way harder than you should or paying them money is not extortion in a way?
We are not simply talking about cheating and taking two off your stroke, we are talking about people who despite being constantly banned breaking in in new ways to push their same wares on people. I spent 3 weeks camping one item because it was a item I really want to wear, and a item that had been previously relitivly easy to get. What had happened was gilsellers saw how many people bought the item, sent teams of 6-12 people down to camp the item using third party programs, then raised the price over 600%. Now its actually a relitivly rare item, not because its not hard to get, but because the price has made it well beyond peoples means for a low lvl item.
You can say its the companys job to get rid of these players, but how is that possibly when the sheer mechanics of how MMOs work allow for a willing hacker or even a Credit Card their to get into the system. Many of these sellers use US credit cards, and many infact are using stolen cards to spoof the system into thinking they are US players. The WWW makes it very easy to spoof servers into even thinking a shack in China IS the US, this just recently happed in WoW infact.
Games use tactics to remove sellers all the time, FFXI infact just implimented a mailbox block to prevent large amounts of in game money to be sent to players, but this comes at the cost of the playerbase themselves who are made to be treated like criminals simply because some asshole pervert in the US (IGE's CEO who has had criminal charges against him) decided that for 50 cents a hour to some kid in china, he could make millions of dollars, with very little startup captial.
While it might be a new type of crime, whats going on IS a crime, but the same courts who would rule that extortion is illegal in real life, when it comes to the internet gets all fuzy since it is real money converted to fake money converted to real money again.
but yet their interactions with American players (and associated slurs) are a constant reminder of their inferior socio-economic status.
Or maybe its a constant reminder of how their tactics and what they do ruins a game people pay VERY good money to play.
I just dont get this need to feel sympithetic to people who play for free, make money (even if it is dirt) to do it, and ruin something I pay to play myself. Some sellers are nice guys, I have helped out one group in FFXI more than once simply cause they help others, and share their loot if you work with them. BUT I cant stand the majority who disrupt the game killing players, stealing mobs, price fixing items, and break the game rules get caught get kicked then manage to get back in as someone else.
They are criminals, there is no sorta catagory. If a homeless man steals your money, they go to jail. Someone breaks into your computer system, they go to jail. Why is it someone is alowed to steal your money (which is what they are doing when they restrict you from doing something you paid for unfairly), and its ok cause its a game?
it actually isnt thats the thing. the EFI bootup on the Mactels make it surprisingly hard to boot windows on it, which is why its been a problem. On the otherhand OS X has little problems booting off a standard PC.
Between the cost of gaming these days (prohibitive on the PC unless you have a new computer, outragious on the systems) and the sheer lack of anything decent new or inovating unless its by Nintendo out there. The writing was on the wall for another Video Game Crash.

not working at all, wont even launch executables. Q is proabably more in line with working.

funny on the east coast I always see them sold out... its the PSP that you can throw a penny and hit 5 here.
