If you had the contract (and the money) you could use the high speed network using Verizons buisness plan, you got a USB cable and some software and you where good to go, if you just used your phone as a modem though without the plan, you where limited to 14.4 but it was free and NOT against contract. Infact I used it all the time when I lived in a apartment and couldnt use the modem because I needed the phone, but ALSO needed to go online. I even have the booklet FROM Verizon that says I could do this.

it seems all this is, is that Verizon now ungimps their bluetooth modem ability, nothing more.

People buy the iPod shuffle cause they DONT want a Nano. Nano's are fragile. VERY fragile, and while it might work with care a gym is a very unforgiving place.

Likewise one of the best uses for my Shuffle has been that I can use it as a flash drive. It works great, and loads on EVERYTHNG and is about the size a flash drive should be, which is NOT what the Nano is.

Nothing says they cant just throw a screen on the tiny Shuffle form factor, even if it mattered which looking at Apple's Sales figures, it didnt.

well a few things I DO know about the next expantion

    1) SE basically said 75 is it, what they are doing is expending the merit system even further beyond the extra merit points added in the Dec update. There are plans to have "merit only" abilitys added to the game where you will have to spend merits to get the ability to further expand your character. As it is currently a fully merited character would = a lvl 85 player.

    2) SE has said that they plan ToAH to have a lot of solo content, if this is true or not we will see in a month when it makes its public debut at FFXIFest in Santa Monica, but if this IS true, it would go very much into why SE would ballance the BST solo capabilitys to = a normal players abilitys.

There is one more job comming, yet again another mage type character, so it would see SE understands there are too many melee types and not enough mages.

There is going to be one more major announcment involving ToAU which will be revealed at the FFXIFest by the developers themselves in a panel.

Killing Ifrit Somepage and the japanese based Mystery Tour are solely based around FFXI as well as the Alla forums which are always hopping with asshats.

Also there was a lot of buzz leading into the last expantion, and the buzz is picking up again for the April expantion comming out. If you really think about it, if you played WoW GW CoH or SWG you wouldnt think any other MMO existed, when the truth is there are well over 30-40 MMOs out there, with FFXI being the third largest not counting GW which most people dont count as a MMO (behind WoW and Lineage II another MMO people almost never hear about but had a playerbase rivaling WoW)

Saying there is rumor about possible things comming out of Apple and outright releasing detailed contents of a NDA agreement are two different things, and all Thinksecret did was released the actual contents of a NDA, which is blatently illegal even if TS didnt sign the NDA themselves.

    2) They didnt shut down anything, they decided to not continue to licence their ROM which is 100% legal and not even remotely questionable. They didnt break any contracts, the contract was simply up and Apple said we are sorry but we arnt going to be re-signing.

NOW if you want to get to questionable practices, bring up anything involving Jobs and his illigiitimate daughter Lisa. What happened there was immoral though Jobs saw the light in his ways eventually. Perfect example, the Cobalt, Ion and certain European cars use the same platform. When the R&D for the cobalt and ion was being done, they just used the already produced European models to test the drivetrain and engines before putting them into the designed and hidden away body, before all of the R&D was done but most of the major road testing was, they showed off the concept car so the first real look of the finished product only came then.

I can see why WotC could be pissed, because it is well know that new sets can change what are winning decks in later tornys and have a major effect on what are big cards are and their second hand market value.
