But if you look at how few languages have actuallly "died" there are just that, VERY very few. The idea is that to a lot of peopse a evolving language is the death of it, with the birth being the evolved version... I mean just go to england if your a american.... you cant figure out half of what they say and you SPEAK their language... same with the french and french canadians...

You have ways of converting Direct X code out there though, two programs that I know off had infact, the funny thing I want to ask is why when still more games are developed on the Mac verse a PC do they not just compile it for both while they are at that point and work there.... I understand the wait for which is the big seller (another reason Mac OS X doesnt get games, they dont sell the ones that bombed on the PC even if it does have a small following) but why not save the money of going back and recoding by just compileing the code right then and there and saving it on the side.

oh and BTW it had memory and a airport card added by me, if you look at their website your allowed to add these things, it even has a section for user installed parts. Custom orders are getting a superdrive in a computer that doesnt normally have it, in which case its very understandable why they wont take it back... what the hell are they going to do with it once it gets there, cant resell it as new, take too long to pull the superdrive out of it. A very fair policy IMHO

I unplugged and replugged it and sure enough comming back 6 hours later it was still working... 7 hours still working then 9 hours later it was still working so I am guestimating it got the full ten hours but i decided to end it there cause i wanted my iPod back lol.

Well not EVERY day, but on adverage at least 6 pr 7 times a week my iPod is pluged in and out of a computer for transfers (both music and most often data) and used in my car to and from work for about 45- one hour of play there and back.

I own a original 5 gig litteraly 3 weeks after its release (I was working for Apple as a Campus Rep at the time and they let us buy them for the employee price, which was $300 if I am not mistaken)

Anyway It did go down from 10 hours to 6 hours of nonstop play (no button mashing backlight off, etc.) but if you just unplug and replug the battery terminal inside it has a tendacy to jump back up to its original 10 hour claim... strange when you think about it, but I tried it after being told by a friend and seeing it on a website and sure enough it DOES work.

    You are NOT a geek

its as simple as that... it take no effort and less than 15 minute to replace the battery and if it isnt working right when your done it either wasnt the battery in the first place... or more likely YOU ARE A MORON WHO SHOULDNT TOUCH ANYTHING TECHNICAL.

Also I have a Gen 1 iPod and use it as both a portable work HD and a music player in my car and around the home and have yet to have battery problems like people experience... I just reset the battery by unpluging and pluging the connector inside the iPod and it worked fine and when back from 6 hours to 10 hours.

HOW!!!!! I have taken appart the iPod 9 times its SO simple to do once you get the case appart which takes 3 minutes cause of the clips.

here are the instruction in a nutshell

    take off back

unplug connection (same style connector as small battery packs found in some RC cars or portable phone batteries)

pull battery off leaving the double sided tape on the ipod part

put new pack on and stick to tape

    put together again.

HOW the fuck is this hard, I know people who reset their battery packs every month doing this. If you manage to kill your iPod doing this your should NOT be allowed near annything technical and you lose all rights to call yourself a nerd.
