    So now we know that it takes 3 years of knowing about linux before one is willing to use. Now that Linux has been hyped (at least here) 2003-04, we might expect larger numbers in mmm...06-07?

    If I remember correctly, TV's were allowed and actually pretty cheap and well available. What could be a better way to spread propaganda anyway. The thing that was banned was satellite receiver because you would get channels that had 'something' that the regime didn't want you to see. However, many people simply had an extra 'air conditioning' box on their roofs which contained the hidden receiver.

    The ones you see on Cribs are a very small fraction of the professionals out there.

    Only a tiny fraction of Cribs seen on MTV are actually owned by the artists who live there. Yes, majority of them live on rent, which explains why there are only 1-2 furnitures per room.

    And so the keyboards keep evolving, even if the layout stays the same. The comparison to processor speed is very odd. I use keyboard layout which is 130 years old, and my computer is based on things that some gay suicider came up with 70 years ago.

    Yup, thats the truth. No matter if they call it Green, Oak or Java, its still slow as shit and useful only for tiny web-based applications. What else can you except from a language which was originally intended for remote control?

    But for the statistical filters that go through the message itself, words like p0rn, T3n and $ are far more condemning because they very rarely (read:never) appear on legitime emails. F.ex the word sex could appear meaning gender, or number 6 if you're Swedish or Norwegian.

    True, but as more and more people use customized spam filters spamers will have less incentive to continue.

    Not true; Those stupid fu..people who respond to spam are highly unlikely to use anykind of filtering. As long those people keep responding to spam, you will get spam.
