In Team Fortress 2, there are a number of asymmetric maps. On these maps, Red is always Defense, while Blue is Offense. When your team switches from one to the other, your color changes.
For example, Dustbowl is one of those maps where Red turtles like hell and Blue tries to organize a spike to capture each point.
Portable players are going to play a big part in this. The reason that Apple's DRM isn't a "de facto" standard is because the more people Apple shares their secrets to, the bigger the possibility of an exploit being found. If we were to move away from MP3 completely (which is a long shot, considering the number of players out there that only support MP3), the new "de facto" couldn't be DRM unless some company managed to get a monopoly on the entire market.
My personal guess is that MP3 is going to stay as the standard for some time now, just like people still use.gif images even though there are patent issues.
In my experience, that is simply not true. We have a couple Linux labs for testing our software where I work, and our N series Dimensions have been very cooperative with RHEL 4 and Fedora Core.
Yeah, I was a little confused by this. The Slashdot headline says "Credit Reports", which are pretty much public record anyway. TFA headline says "Bank and Credit Records."

B) One or several competing corporate entities will successfully be able to offer the same updates (so-called "support") by free-loading off Redhat's efforts...
Hard to tell which one of these your implying KFC does, but I would say this falls under "make me WANT to watch your commercials"... you can still skip them. Sorry if I misinterpreted. Damn text medium.
What about Ubuntu's current way of putting out a new release every 6 months? If Grumpy Groundhog is going to be in a state of perpetual development, they'll have to come up with another funny hog name by October...
Whoops, Re-post with line breaks included. It's been a while since I posted in Slashdot.
From the OP: "How long before he's replaced entirely by his own program to cut down on staff costs?"
You know, somebody has to teach the material in the first place. I sure as heck get more out of lecture than I do out of reading the textbook (well, in most classes)... The only one really in danger is the grad student getting paid solely to grade papers. And then you've got the point about how the final papers are still read by the professor, anyway.
I'm reminded of a middle school teacher I had, around 1998, who talked about how people used to proclaim that teachers would be replaced by computers by the year 2000. It's the same question, the deadlines just keep being pushed back. So, to make a long story short, I doubt teachers will ever be fully replaced by computers.
Okay, now you can flame me for missing the "Preview" button. =P

You should see a doctor about that. It shouldn't persist for more than 4 hours.
if you don't believe me, you know there is only one way to find out
Thank goodness for text-only web browsers.

Nah, go ahead and get two, for redundancy. :)

Isn't Oracle doing that already?
This is pretty bad news for fugitives who want a FREE XBOX 360*!!!
Jesus Christ, that thing is real?!!
So, will this be 95% of the population of the U.S., or 95% of the geographical area? I can't imagine them putting routers out in the boonies...
I guess I'll go read TFA now.
Sshhh, don't give them ideas...

Gotta love The Far Side.
Just when the others are having problems getting online, having to log in keeps me from getting first post! So close...
Cats vs. Dogs! Now that's taking a shovel and widening the trench between GNOME and KDE!
You have not seen the last of Kim Jong Il!!
BSOD... now that's a name I haven't heard in a long, long time...
Well, perhaps they could travel forward in time to get DNF, before travelling backwards to the party?

By the time a crack comes out, Steam will let you play it. So, I'd say it's a moot point.
Are the screenshots /.ed already? I noticed that they're on a webforum, not Fedora's website.
Yeah, but it wouldn't be a small distro designed for playing Go. Celebrate diversity!
