Cold turkey worked for me too, and I really think it's the best way to quit coffee, cigarettes, booze - in fact anything which doesn't work into your system so deeply that quitting cold turkey may be such a shock that it kills you.
Quitting smoking was the weirdest for me. Not only was the realization that I wouldn't be smoking another cigarette again scary as hell, but the little demon inside telling me I really should be smoking a cigarette about now was downright creepy.
The nighttime sweats and cold symptoms for a few days was also weird, but you get past a week and the physical stuff is gone.
You just have your mind to deal with after that;-)
Drink lots of water and treat yourself with a really nice meal every so often for making your body a better place to live in.
My local Staples (North Seattle) is selling packs of 10 DVD+R from multiple manufacturers for $14.99.
It's by far the cheapest, and most available blank DVD media format on their shelves.
I picked up a pack thinking I'd got a great deal then realized a few hours later it wouldn't work on my Mac G4, did some research, said "duh", and replaced it with DVD-R which does work on my Mac.
While I was there I noticed lots of cheap DVD+R burners on the shelves, and needless to say no Macs for sale, so this is yet another "standards" gone wild deal by the looks of it.
When will this madness end? It's getting as bad as batteries!

I saw a woman get kicked out of shopping mall once for breast-feeding her baby. I was sat close by with my wife and we didn't even notice. She was just sat quietly next to her stroller feeding her kid.
With that kind of brute insensitivity to the naked body you really expect the U.S. to show ads that just might disgust an audience that thinks breast feeding in public is perverted?
"Beagle survives on the energy from its solar panels and has no way to clean them if they get dirty because of, say, a dust storm."
Why don't they use those transparent strips that Formula One race car drivers use on their visors? Someone could just peel a strip off each solar panel after a dust storm.
My favourite source for all things electronic music related published an interesting bit on how the Microsoft / Loudeye deal further promotes the WMA format:
we had to install 2,000 operating systems before we were given any breakfast, another 16,000 before dinner and a million more before we were allowed to go to sleep at night.
Every time we wanted to go to the toilet we had to write at least 18 new operating systems, from scratch, with new word processing and graphics apps capable of running on all of them.
All this on an abacus with most of the things missing!
I just realized that I don't think I've ever read one single book review. I read music reviews, and lots of film reviews, but never a book review.
Maybe it's because with a new book, or an old book for that matter, you can go to a bookstore and read the first paragraph, and a few sentences within, and basically decide from there whether it'll hit the spot, or not.
Music is different, as are films, insofar as they are often put together by a lot of different people. A music or film review tells you not only how it sounds or looks, but also who is involved in the production of the product.
I spoke to a friend about this last night and she says it's unlikely they'll be replaced by Dell PC's, so it sounds like the BofA empoyee just pulled a popular PC manufacturer out of thin air.
They are in the process of being replaced though, and just to set the record straight they were indeed Mac SE's running as terminals (man, great reporter I'd make;-)
I asked my wife if she'd heard of this ride, seeing as she was raised in Southern California before her family moved to Seattle in the early 80's. "Wow, That My Favorite Ride" she said, and told me all about the sights and sounds.
It was kind of disappointing to not be able to access the.avi files, seeing as we have a Mac, but the.mpg's ran great and really blew her away how realistic it all looked.
She mentioned a big eyeball that would peer down at you after the "miniaturization" process, which was maybe included in the.avi we got to hear but not see, and also how the cars would go to the left after entering the miniaturizer, as opposed to going straight and actually turning into those little timy cars in the injector device.
Also, the cars would jiggle about as they moved along the track, which would be a nice touch instead of the clinically clean super smooth tracking that the default CGI outputs.
Can't wait to see more, and replace the.avi's with.mpg's please. It's yet another closed msft standard.
Talking of 1984, and Mac, I was in a Bank Of America in downtown Seattle this morning and the customer service booth had a Macintosh Plus as its main console. I remarked on how cool it was to be using such a classic computer in such a modern banking environment to which the employee said "nah, we'll be getting rid of these old things next month".
I asked if a new Mac would be replacing the old Mac they've been using every day for the past fifteen years, alas no. A Dell will be there for the next fifteen years, not a Mac.

It's all so subjective, and I'm not even going to get started on how classic Yes albums are always left out of the Best Album Of All Time lists.
I'm not complaining though. Imagine being really into Yodelling music, or Whistling. How left out must those cats be feeling!
Nah, you have it all backwards. Trade is going to start moving in both directions again soon, you just watch.
From China to USA: $20 chinese DVD-x+ format compatible reader/writers and $5 pack of 100 chinese DVD-x+R blank media.

is this page in? I'd have thought it would at least be alphabetical!

It's like a geekfest version of The Fog!

You should be watching The Reward Channel.
Here's a page that I used once to help me put together a cabinet to rack mount my musical gear.
It's easy to follow and gives a list of stuff to pick up at your local hardware store.
I log into XP as Pissed Off User by default every time.
I certainly would not stage the scene with the Lego President hugging the retired Lego Firefighter!

No they wouldn't, they'd be looking at Jane Fondas tits!

I bet you're peeling your fingernails off after that one.
I'm sure, but that $50 deductable on your insurance hurts more on a $70 device than it does on a $400 device!
