  1. Re:Linux? on Intel Head Recommends Apple · · Score: 1

'Maybe Apple is going to use intel hardware...'

"The rumor that Apple is considering Intel chips for the Mac platform is nonsense. Literally. Non-sense. It makes no sense.
The rumor that Apple will use chips from Intel instead of its long-standing partner IBM is as old as the Mac platform itself.
Year after year the rumor keeps popping up. Today's version is in the Wall Street Journal, which means it's getting wide play.
"The computer maker has been in talks that could lead to a decision soon to use Intel Corp. chips in its Macintosh computer line, industry executives say, a prospect that may shake up the world of computers and software," the WSJ reports.
But why would Apple switch from IBM, which is kicking ass, to Intel, whose heyday may be over?
Intel's chip technology trails both IBM's and AMD's. IBM's dual-core processors are a couple of years ahead of Intel's, which is why all three next-generation gaming consoles will be based on variations of the IBM's PowerPC chips -- the same chips used by Apple.

The irony is, it's Microsoft that's starting to switch platforms, starting with the XBox. Not Apple."

Actually podcasts have given me the chance to follow much more political debates; i grab em from various political blogs and i listen to them completely on the way to wherever.
Tv/radio covers about 5 minutes of important debates that are sometimes 3 hours long, and political tvshows force their guests to answers of 25 words or less; that's not good enough for me.

I hope more indepth debates find their way to the net.

Linux has proven to be a much better os than windows in many ways, but it won't be until i can TRUST some of its software (i dare anyone to design, let's say, a small cymk brochure using gimp and scribus instead of quark and photoshop; and take that to an offset printer) that i will have it running on my desktop all of the time.

Belgian dark beer is nearly three times as strong as the standard US beer.Actually i do believe that it's one of the strongest beers i have ever had. This beer is brewed by monks who put the focus on beer alone, most of them work and live preferably in solitude, only hang around with other monks, don't wanted to be bothered with anything else but beer and makin it (well, some are into the cheesebizz too) and on top of it all, they are not known to have alot of sex with women.

Bad technical backup for scifi movies has never really annoyed me. The thing that really annoys me are the computerinterfaces and -applications I sometimes spot in Hollywood movies, especially friendly-voiced talking emailclients that deliver animated emailmessages that would take over twenty hours to make in Flash.
Most moviehackers are pretty awful too most of the time, i've seen people hack into networks by quickly typing a few words to bypass a well designed and animated promptscreen (another twenty hours Flash) in order to access some evil company's secret 3D rendered visualised datafiles.

How's that? It's all about emailtraffic overkill, it doesn't really matter what OS you're using, everyone's losin sleep over this. We run nothing but OSX and Linux but we're still getting huge amounts of virusemails in (the only difference is that the virus isn't able to distribute from here), plus all mailserver bouncemails (our info@ account appeared to be a pretty popular sender on other people's Outlooks).
