"Quantum entanglement is a physical resource, like energy, associated with the peculiar nonclassical correlations that are possible between separated quantum systems. Entanglement can be measured, transformed, and purified. A pair of quantum systems in an entangled state can be used as a quantum information channel to perform computational and cryptographic tasks that are impossible for classical systems. The general study of the information-processing capabilities of quantum systems is the subject of quantum information."
Maybe a voice interface, a la Star Trek, will be the future of the interface. I can't imagine sitting in my office talking to the desktop, but that may help the masses interact with computers in an easier way.
I've watched so many people go between maximized programs by closing the current one. I think a lot of people don't get the layering in the 2d desktop enviroment. (or that the computer isn't just the monitor, lol) Maybe 3d, since we deal with real objects everyday, would be more intuitive. I haven't seen anything that would be an improvement from kde, gnome, explore, or aqua yet, but I imagine a well done 3d enviroment would be more intuitive.
I think that 3d, fps have already figured out moving in 3d. Just use a mouse and 4 keys on the keyboard (asdw maybe). Or maybe I've just been playing Halo too much.

If these aliens can master nanotechnology, they've probably mastered the quantum. Maybe they could use something like quantum entanglement to have these "pea sized" things communicate information back.
Heisenberg is out for a drive when he's stopped by a traffic cop. The cop says "Do you know how fast you were going?" Heisenberg says "No, but I know where I am."
A lot of "wardrivers" really do just map networks. Stealing services and browsing insecure networks is not the only reason to wardrive. When someone detects an AP, it can be done in a passive way. Your AP could be broadcasting a beacon over public airwaves. I don't condone any unauthorized access or "bandwidth stealing", but many people set up public AP's in their homes for others to use. You can use a laptop with Windows XP, a wireless card and default settings and accidently get on an unsecured AP. Windows automatically tries to connect to the strongest network. Running without security is like leaving the keys on the dashboard of an unlocked car.
I looked up scripts for ep. 5 and 6. You are indeed correct. He has a dialog with R2, but it seems like someone who talks to thier dog. I think I may have too much time on my hands.

In Empire Strikes Back, after the battle on Hoth, Luke communicates with R2 with the X-Wing. Since he can't hear him through the ship's hull, he uses the screen. He doesn't seem to need a translation later. When they exit the X-wing and are walking around Degaba, Luke talks and understands him just fine. Must have been the Force.

I'm glad past explorers didn't feel that way. I'm sure sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in 15th century ships wasn't exactly safe. The saying, "No risk, no gain" comes to mind. The Colombia and Challenger accidents were terrible, but I would imagine that they wouldn't want the manned space program to end with them.
In other news:
The A.P. is reporting a record number of users on all p2p networks. Kazaa's userbase shoots up to over 5 million.

How about Sharp's new stereoscopic, 3d monitors. I know they're expensive as h*ll now, but in a year or two, they'll be feasible.

Offtopic here, but why did my parent post get moderated as a Troll?

Luke Skywalker did in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In Star Wars he had to rely on C-3PO.
Mod me offtopic, but bring Sliders back too :(
